State Of The Game

Hey all this is a reach out to the community, since i miss this game i though about coming back! i haven't played since 2011-2012 ish and was wondering how things are? What servers seem to be the most populated (originally from siren) how the end game looks etc. I know coming back means pretty much relearning everything all over again but i got tired of the toxicity in ffxiv and the elitist ppl. Before i left i mained WHM but i can relearn anything i have leveled.

These threads are kind of meh tbh. But to answer your question (inb4 the haters come in and talk ***about ffxi) this game is in great shape.

It's easier than ever to get things done now than before. You can have 3-5 trusts (NPCs from the main storylines that you can unlock, not sure how long you've been gone) that can help you do everything basically before adoulin, and some of adoulin itself. Depending on your server, shout groups happen frequently.

Gear progression is even easier than before (you can literally buy ***that takes you right to the top of the entry-level requirement, though some cost job points *new merit points*). If you're thinking of coming back, just come back. You can get tons of stuff done in a few hours, literally, as cool down timers on much content has been reduced or removed completely.

Making gil is not an issue. You can actualy make a decent living *not farming gil*. There are so many other things in the game that give currency, that, although not directly made to farm gil, allows you to transform currency into sellables, and make profit.

So yeah, in short, just reactivate your game, play for a few hours, and see what you like. Its 11 bucks or so, a few candy bars. You can spare it, and if it is not to your liking, just bounce. It's really fun still now.

Without personal goals (whatever they may be) the game will get boring fast, especially for people who never quit.

But that kinda applies to any videogame I'm afraidm, it's not FFXI specific.
Current situation of the game is pretty stale, but better than we all pictured it to be when they announced the "game's end".
Especially for returning players there's a TON of stuff to do.

For players that never quit on the other hand... heh, kinda depends on the type of player I guess.
