I hate flags for celebrating.
Grumpy Cat said: » I hate flags for celebrating. I hate premeditated, idiotic celebrations. I forget which comedian it was, Tosh maybe? Their job is to catch a ball, let them dance a bit when they do a good job. As long as it only goes on a few seconds it doesn't hurt anymore.
Daniel Tosh is occasionally funny, but mostly I want to see someone stab him in the face.
Edit: That said, I have nothing against brief celebration. It's when they do stupid dances and actually bring props (or sharpies...) into it and the like that I really think is stupid. Pump a fist, raise your arms, whatever. But don't make us watch you do the electric slide or whatever. Noted grumpypants Bill Belichick is on the record - ON FILM! - telling players "you've worked hard for this, if you make a play, you SHOULD be excited!".
If a man who has smiled maybe seven times in his entire life thinks celebrations after a play are alright, maybe the rest of us should lighten up a little. It's entertainment. The NFL takes itself way too seriously, and its fans don't really help matters. If it's a HUGE play -- like an end-of-game pick six or something in a rivalry or playoff game or something -- sure. Live it up a little in the end zone. But leave the props at home. But if it's a sack in the first quarter of game two of the season? Or a TD when you're still down by 15? Tone it down a notch. That they got McDavid was such utter horse ***. Toronto is going the right direction. They're doing a rebuild right. It's never really clear whether Calgary "gets it" or not. Ottawa has a terrible owner who wants results without paying for them. Vancouver and Montreal both need to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror and decide what type of team(s) they are and what they're doing going forward. Players like T.O. and Ochocinco's stunts were often the most entertaining part of the games in which they played. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if a player did the whole Shipoopi celebration from Family Guy.
I agree with Cam Newton, "I'm a firm believer if you don't like it, keep me out (of the end zone)." I just keep them off my television.~ I'm pretty much required (I think it's a law, actually) to watch Steelers games though. How fast did Chad Johnson fall off, wow. I remember he wore that future HOFer jacket for a celebration, yeah, nope. Owens gets in next year.

So... My no. 1 team is playing my no. 2 team in the NBA playoffs next series... I'm kinda worried though. OKC vs Spurs.

For a while now I haven't had to worry about that problem as the Sabres haven't been in any danger of making the playoffs for a while now. That could change in the next few years though. I still remember how it ended last time. The Sabres were my #1 team last time. Hasek in net. YouTube Video Placeholder Darius *** Kaspairitis.
A friend of mine went out to dinner once with him because he shares a mutual friend with Kasp. Apparently all he did for two hours was talk about different players on the team and on the team's staff who owed him money from poker games they played over the season. Lance Moore doin' the Hingle McCringleberry
And yeah Shiva.Viciousss said: » Spurs cruise. Though I'd rather see OKC take it. Yeah...what...dude pointing at another dude's junk.
Okay, cool, if that's how you celebrate? I mean, who am I to judge... Ramyrez said: » Yeah...what...dude pointing at another dude's junk. Okay, cool, if that's how you celebrate? I mean, who am I to judge... It's from the Key & Peele skit that Dameshi posted a couple posts back. Ah. I can't watch videos at work.
Which...I probably give the impression I can because I post so many of them, but that's just because I know exactly what I'm looking for to post most of the time and I can snag the direct links off of Google to YT. ;x Ramyrez said: » Ah. -Rocketball: Team getting considerably better. team no longer clown fiesta for an enemy team goal. (as often) Yeah, I'm thinking if OKC pulls out all the stops, they could do it but if they *** around at all, Spurs will take it.
EDIT: Then we'll probably worry about GSW. Anna Ruthven said: » Yeah, I'm thinking if OKC pulls out all the stops, they could do it but if they *** around at all, Spurs will take it. EDIT: Then we'll probably worry about GSW. OKC is always a threat because Durant and Westbrook are amazing. The Spurs are a relentless, disciplined, multi-faceted juggernaut though, and I would expect Spurs in six.
