There's definitely a benefit to both small and large servers. I'm not sure if you're implying that low population is overall bad, but there are many people quite happy with their servers the way they are.

I'd also like to take this time to point out that Sylph is the official server of the one true MS Paint linkshell.

There are other servers who struggle to break 400 during peak hours. And then there's the people who go and ask "my server ded where I go?" And Asurans, such as yourself, sweep in and tell 'Em to go to Asura, thus compounding the discrepancy further.

That's why Asura needs to be closed to server transfers. Give other servers a chance.

Your server should be closed and merged with the other less successful servers. Your argument for closing transfers to asura has no basis. Sorry you don't want to move and don't like where you are enough.

Oh, and "has no basis?" Really? So 1500 on Asura vs. 300 on Quetzalcoatl or 500 on Shiva isn't a basis for closing Asura to server transfers? You think 1500 vs. 300 is balanced? Wait, Tanaka-san is that you?

The only reason a server gets closed off is because it is too full. Not because no one wants to be on your server. Unless they like being alone or in a less crowded environment.

I wish SE would just merge because merge > transfer. Spicy is totally right that the benefit of bigger server outweight smaller ones just because it's a lot more efficient to make progress on your character(s)...Unless all you ever want to do is solo mythics for every job or 4 box every content all the time. In that case it makes no difference.

That being said, Spicys experience involves with merge but not transfer. You don't lose friends from server merge, but you do lose friends if you transfer. IMO that's the biggest difference, and that's why some ppl don't transfer to bigger server or went back to their home server after transferred to a bigger server. Because they'd rather play with people they know instead of making progress faster.
