Fenrir.Nightfyre said: » Think the first completed mythic was Kirschy's Liberator? edit: Nope, looks like it was Jackyl's Burtgang. Goddamn, that was nearly 8 years ago... There were also some sightings of statless weapons (including two Tizonas, amusingly enough) shortly before Jackyl finished, but from what I can find that was the first weapon confirmed fully unlocked. The former probably being notorious for being a douchebag (and actually someone I disliked for years--though it didn't stop my admiration to his dedication to the Samurai job). Whatever happened to Jackyl and Minidragon?
NASA lol..oops...../silent When you say "Best" players you mean legit players or those who used the most hacks so they virtually were in God Mode like Avesta's 75RDM/NIN solo of Seiryu where he also used WHM Divine Seal, BLM Elemental Seal aswell as speed hack?
We should be clear about this. What 3rd partys enhance the players skills and which are just cheats that any noob could look awesome if they used. Offline

GS kinda eliminate the need to do macro management(which is part of playing the game), and players can skip certain sets with it. Imo it's really controversial about which tool is skill which isn't. Those who uses it will still claim it's skill and vice versa. But yeah IT BEGINS. There should be a category for "most helpful". Those players who spent years helping new players and getting them invested instead of playing endgame all the time.
Don't see it as much nowadays because players are more self-efficient and know how to research, but back in the early days you needed mentors, and some of them played the game solely to help others before furthering themselves. These players formed a reputation across the server and still get a mention even if they retired years ago. If I was to nominate anyone, it would be Seiya. Originally on the Hades server, he mentored so many players he became a legend. There's a huge story behind the guy which I kept updated. After an emotional leaving party in 2005, he returned after a year or two away, and dozens of players welcomed him back by PLing his new char (he didn't ask for help, they forced it on him) up to 75 in a day. They were his children, like I, and we passed on his methods of teaching. Lakshmi.Buukki

I know many people may have forgotten him since I think he retired after the birth of his child, but Taint from Cerberus was definitely one of the best Dark Knights to ever play this game. He might as well have been a real life DRK, that's how good he was. Also was a good all-around guy from what I recall.
