Except islam was already greatly interconnected with both west and east during all of those times, and was actually a key player in the exchange of cultures, knowledge and riches.

I'd convert to Islam but Christmas is a pretty big deal. They need a Christmas like holiday without the strict tenets.Arranged marriages. Trip to Mecca. Eating food with bare hands etc

You have zero appreciation for all the good around you that has come from Christianity? You can dwell on all the negatives through out human history. Meaning yeah everyone has done "scumbags" things not just religious ppl but every nation on earth as well at one point in time or another. Yet our whole way of life comes from Christianity and many men have lost thier lives fighting for things you take for granted apparently. Nobody's forcing ya to believe in anything but that doesn't mean you should bash ppl who do. Not everyone is good. Not everyone is evil.
