FFVII Remake... It's official! (Discussion)
really hope 7 is the full finished version, as they originally envisioned
My 2 favorite ff's being remade (7&12)is cool, however as amazing as a HD 12 will be, I just don't know if I'll like 7 with updated graphics. That blocky polygon look is one of the things that I want to see when I play it, it would feel weird without it. As far as 12 goes, please be the original...not that zodiac job system version.

Handhelds are just an inferior experience overall. I've got a giant TV and a comfortable recliner, why exactly do I want to stare at a tiny screen?
Bravely Default is the only game in recent memory that I've liked well enough to stick with the handheld, and that's only because I literally could not play it anywhere else.

Hmmmm, I lost interest in JRPGs since most (if not all) consist of the same formula: Kids or a group of "Korean pop star bands" look-alike are saving the world.
Even though FFVII does not fit that description, there is still a chance they would make some changes to appeal to current generation in Japan rather than some changes for a more broader-international appeal.
HAHAHA! I can imagine it now, "Cloud" would look a *** and would be better fitted a more feminine name like "Misty".
I'll just stick with Western RPGs for now, they are the ***.
....btw, the games developed by Software (Dark Souls, Bloodborne, etc.), are they JRPGs?

There's always the (slim) chance that they play this basically straight, and we get the old school, gruff badass Cloud, and not any of the later revisions.
A current-gen FF7 that actually keeps its heroes heroic would consume an awful lot of my time. If Emo McBusterSword from AC shows up though, all bets are off.

Just to point out, it says REMAKE. And thats what has me worried. Personally i always wanted a REMASTERED release. We will have to see how this new one is changed...

Cloud was pretty emo in the original FF7, whats everyone on about? He may not have gone full Squall but he was no Zidane.

Zidane is still the gold standard, and a primary reason IX is still wildly underrated. Even his emo moment just resulted in a berserker combat spree.
And Cloud managed to stay frosty through the first disc, at least. Disc One Cloud is one of the better characters in the series. Everything since has been hit or miss.

You don't announce Final Fantasy VII if you're not going to deliver. This has to be SE priority #1. It's their flagship title.

Seriously. Most people couldn't have cared less about Versus XIII and they were still hounded about it for years (and had to make it a numbered title to finally force themselves to finish it). They even acknowledged the weight of it in the teaser - "The promise has been made." No backing down from that.
And on 6/16/15, there is a vast shortage of PS4s.....
