Curilla's BSB party buff might stack with HotE and definitely stacks with Shout.

Ayame's BSB self buff definitely stacks with HotE, Curilla, and Shout.

Even without synergy, she can break 1000 Attack with her BSB.

Damn the solo with Jecht was rough, got real lucky and had like 1 HP left on the final attack lol. I should have set Loner instead of the start w/greater regen.

For solo jecht, I ended up with a RW with Lightning's BSSB. Getting lucky with the interrupts from that will get you pretty far.

I had Chakra + Exploding Fists and I have Jechts 4 hit SB so those did a lot of damage. For RW I used Lunatic High for protect + haste.

I used Kick and Chakra and put Squall's BSSB on RW. Adds were cake but the cactuses getting 1k Needles happy was a pain in the ***. Loner can't reduce that damage. ;/

Ayame's SBs are called Tachi: Jinpu (SSB, Ochiudo Kote) and Meikyo Shisui (BSB, Soboro Sukehiro)

Curilla's are Swift Blade (SSB, Iron Musketeer Cuirass) and Intervene (BSB, Temple Knight Army Sword)

Shantotto's new one is called Ancient Magic (SSB, Tactician Magician's Coat) Flare/Freeze/Burst

Is it just me, or does DeNA really suck at translating lately? One of the bonus missions says to "Complete [...] with Edgar and Sabin in a party of up to 4 FF VI heroes!". I used 3 FF VI characters in a full party... didn't get it. I'm still not entirely sure what they meant to say. You can only use FF VI characters, but no more than 4 in a party? I dunno.

And then on the Vargas U+ fight one of the targets is, "Exploit Vargas (Ultimate +)'s weakness to poison." Okay, so I land a poison spell on him and proceed to kill him, only to find out they meant poison elemental damage, costing me the mastery.

Seriously, when you've got multiple forms of poison, be a little specific.

I made that same mistake with the Edgar/Sabin mission. They want you to 4-man it with FF6 characters only. Two of which MUST be Edgar and Sabin. The other 2 can be any other character from the FF6 realm. Really bad wording.

Ayame the clear winner, she's extremely powerful especially when you consider that her BSB gives Enblizzard. Snowstorm Strike go.

Has anyone played around with the new 5* ability Powerchain? I'm thinking Lifesiphon/Powerchain with Battleforged RM would make this pretty awesome. It would make a BSSB or SSB instant. My question, is it faster to use Powerchain+BSSB or just use it normally?

Battleforged would be a huge waste unless you're below attack cap. Otherwise life siphon to almost full SB bar -> Powerchain to finish it -> SSB. The most potent Powerchain combo is Powerchain -> Full Charge -> Powerchain -> Full Charge -> etc. but only a few characters can do that (Gau, Tidus, Lightning, Zack, and Tyro; later on Zell)

What do you mean below attack cap? Battleforged increases soul break gauge fill rate by 50% when using attack or abilities.

Yes, which is less valuable for DoT than increasing damage by 20% (weapon damage+20%) unless A) the SB has a beneficial effect attached that you need to spam or B) you're already capped at 9999/hit

I see what you mean. I suppose in my party setup SB+ RM would pull ahead since I use it to spam Lightning's BSSB. With Aerith's Planet Protector, Wakka's Status Reels + Full Break, there are very few enemies that do not take 9999.

Also, it's interesting to note that Powerchain works on RWs.

Notes:
-Duds can be subjective, but generally the things listed here as duds aren't very strong compared to other relics available right now or in the very near future.

-If you don't have a native wall, consider investing into banner 5. Wall will not always be as useful as it is today and Cid Missions won't allow you to bring it, however it is still nice to have it. There will be another chance at wall during the BSSB fest via the FFXIV banner via Yshtola's Thyrus.

-Overall I wouldn't suggest pulling on banner 2 but all the other ones have qualities that can be deemed valuable depending on what you already have.



Personally I'm going hard on banner 1 and probably won't pull anywhere else. Maybe 1 11 pull on 3 or 5 if I have any leftover Mythril, otherwise hoarding until Adult Rydia for Kain SSB and stuff.

I'm a bit disappointed in your banner evaluation. 6/10 for effort. If you're going to evaluate a banner though, you need to do it properly and specifically target the main reason for pulling on a banner, which is, waifus. Potential waifus is what we need to target and address.

Features: Celes, Lightning, Relm, Beatrix and Vanille
Highlight: Relm- she paints a portrait of a naked goddess, waifu in waifu while waifu memes
Low light: Lightning - broke Proth's heart, cant forgive
Honorable mentions: Everyone

Features: Yuna, Penelo, Tidus
Highlight: Penelo - becomes useful
Low light: Tidus - isn't waifu material

Highlight: Selphie - She dances for you and revitalizes your soul and protects you, would be 10/10 if there was a pole basically.

Features: Ramza, Agrias, Edea, Faris, Lenna
Highlight: Ramza - Flat chested waifu thats gives huge buffs to compensate

Highlight: Agrias - Shes into DP breakdowns, both from magic and attack down.

Honorable mentions: Terra- Basically a free Bahamut that gives you 20% magic and haste, nuff said.
Waifu count: 4



Conclusion: Banner 1,3 and 4 have the most waifu's and therefore should be considered. 5 has the next highest and then there is 2 which has the lowest and should probably never be considered outside of being a Meg Ryan fan and wanting to use Tidus.

I have native wall, so I tend to just bring steal power on a thf so I can use fullbreak instead of protect on Tyro (or break fever, etc.) With Cecil, I could replace that thf since I can just bring tect on Cecil and pair him w/ life siphon. I also gain more damage since none of my THF members have any unique SBs.

With Lightning, I have Agrias shield with the boost to lighting damage. She basically replaces Cloud, who's best SB is Blade Beam on my team (or when I don't need the extra mitigation, replaces my steal power thf)

Aside from that, I'd be able to find some use for anything there except for Gordon's shield. I would have added Celes' Excalibur to my top tier, but she doesn't have access to life siphon, so wouldn't be able to keep it up full time.

Could use some another solid DPS oriented SB on the team. Currently have blade beam and hallowed bolt. Another would speed a lot of battles up. Though Edge can't use life siphon so that is the one I want least

With that said, I already have drill. I have native shout/wall; so boon doesn't have a slot in my party. Don't care for Yuna's rod or Sabin's fist. That puts 4 items idc for on the banner. I could make use of Arc/Penelo, but they're not on the hype meter.

Wutai Headband

Shadow's would be very welcome for my DPS team, and I wouldn't mind Yuffie for DPS/Medica (steal power/thief raid, + clear tranquil)

That said, nothing else stands out to me, and I have native wall. I can't reliably keep up wall and the new SB, so I'd rather just RW it and use it on someone who will deal damage along with the mitigation it provides. I already have Aerith's ribbon, and nothing else stands out.

Again solid DPS and one more solid DPS would complete my physical team. This also offers me ffv synergy, which I have next to nothing for. Platinum shield is pretty kick *** as well. Actually, I like most of this stuff minus platinum sword/Defender.

Considering I will start with Banner 1, I may yolo remaining mythril on this banner and hope I don't get duplicates (I have 2x defender and a platinum sword)


Banner 5:
Top tier
Golden Armor

Nothing else stands out to me. I have blade beam, so while fusion sword is an upgrade, I

A. Have ff7 synergy out the ***
B. Would rather be able to introduce a new dps to my group than upgrading Cloud. He does fine as is. Adding a different bsb would increase damage more than going from blade beam to overdrive.

Aside from that Terra's rod would be cool for mage builds, but I don't use them nearly as often, nothing stands out. Ramza's medica could be cool, but when I use him for mitigation (breakdown) and shout, would be hard to throw a third thing on here to rely on him for. (If breakdown drops to get medica up, you basically take that damage right back)

I have Eiko's first medica, SG, and Agrias' shield already, so three chances for duplicates.

If I pull on any of the banner's it'll be Banner 5 in an attempt at Agrias' Kaiser Shield.

Everything else is probably going to XIV Banner 1 for Thyrus.

In my experience it pretty much never goes down. Aside from exploiting weaknesses being a mini life siphon (easy on a 5* Spellblade, can even make your own weakness with Imperil SBs) Indom. Blade has a 35 second duration rather than the standard 25, more than enough time for a refresh. It's easily one of the most game changing relics available, completely nullifying single target magic is huge on a lot of bosses.

They nerfed Ninja spells :/

I just tried doing Evrae Altana Nightmare. The punk did Poisom Breath at 1% as I was casting Diaga! Omfg

Bunch of stuff that sucks:

-So far, no indication of an orbfest coming. This orbfest would have introduced Cactuar Trees which drop 8-12 greater orbs.

-No Mobius or Dissidia collab events. Several characters, MC2s, and relics will now be unavailable to us.

-Event schedule has been changed from new event every 7 days (every Monday for event and Thursday for bonus battles) to a new event every 8 days.

-DUs have been changed from monthly to every 6-8 weeks.

-Nightmare dungeons have been changed from every 3-4 weeks to every 5-6 weeks.

They're basically spacing everything out far more so we don't catch up to Japan due to not getting any collab events.

I don't get this new system, are the orbs gonna be easily obtainable?

Sort of. 3* will get more and more common over time, 4* always remain rare. Need to pick and choose which characters you want to upgrade. Personally I'll be waiting for Celes and Onion Knight records
