Honestly, I don't want any more jobs until they add the two missing Macro Books since they forgot to add them when GEO and RUN were introduced. Yes, I know I can add two jobs to the same book but I liked the idea of each job having its own book.

I am not expecting a dramatic change other than a server merge but don't you think a press conference to only announce a yearly roadmap would be a bit overkill? There must be an important announcement.

Yea hate to break it to you but there is a possibly the game could be coming to an end. Nothing lasts forever even cold November FFXI !

Considering FFXI has arguably the most punishing grinds of any P2P game ever in its legendary weapons, I'm not sure what going Korean would even entail.

I for one kind of hope they are going to announce that they are going to do something like the FF14 crew did. Shut the game down for a bit to upgrade resources and such. UI, server hardware, graphics; the whole nine yards. Of course, with that announcement would have to come word of them finally putting an end to PS2 support.

One thing I think is of note also is that I happen to talk to a japanese player that spoke a good amount of English after a VW run recently. While this is totally up in the air as I have no way of possibly confirming it, he said that he personally knows a Senior GM outside of the game and that GM hinted that the upcoming server merge was to separate the playerbase. Japanese players would be on their own servers while NA and EU would share servers, all based on the region your registered copy of the game (or download code) was purchased from.

That mindset seems a bit archaic and would mess with the game's diversity, but it WOULD finally eliminate the "JP Onry" aspect that has stuck around in some places since the game's release outside of Japan. And given that they canned support of some of the other languages, it does stand to reason they would put NA and EU players together on "English speaking" servers.

I personally am on the fence about this if it turns out to be true. The language barrier is without a doubt one of the hardest things to overcome with regard to this game, and while there are many japanese folk that learn at least some English throughout their schooling, the same can not be said the other way around. Having dealt with the language barrier in person in my work, I can say that I would enjoy not having to deal with it anymore. However, the separation of the playerbase like that just doesn't sit well with my conscience.

Cartman's mother tried to have him aborted when he was 8. Maybe SE can apply that same bass ackwards logic. You just never know. Plus, we all have our dream scenarios about this game. That's been mine since they first did it with FF14.

I heard they're going to combine FFXI and FFXIV into one game called FFF.

You can still abort, just push it back inside and pretend it never came out.

Possible: Server merge (some GM already said that this will be possible); New expension (not has to be something like adoulin, maybe more abyeesea areas?) and just a yearly roadmap!



Edit: I just read the rumor about seperate server ,so each region get one. After 13 years they do it? I dont think so. Also they did not do it really on FFXIV. They have server in EU,NA and JP but Legacy server often have player from everywhere. I can just speak for odin, but the seperate would kill the game,cause not all NA/EU gamer are online and their prime time. And not all JPs was "JP only". There was NA/EU player who did that too.

Weirdly, and despite not speaking a word of Japanese myself, I find that the majority of people I associate with in game are Japanese. Maybe it's my rough Google translations to them that help, or the fact in the past the NA/EU playerbase got offended by some of my methods for setting up events, I don't know. I'd be gutted if they did this though.

If they separe JP from NA/EU it would be an huge fail for Humanity.

Here's what I think...

They have no idea what to do, so they've cleverly announced some big thing and are now searching through all the comments to see what ideas the community has. When the time comes, they'll go with the most repeated suggestions and claim it was their announcement all along.

I don't see that happening. It would be really stupid to separate the playerbase so drastically at this point.
