The JP farming bot feeds the materials to the craft mule, there's no ah botting, or "endless" crafting.

I know it's all a complicated process to understand, but you never do shady things on a valuable account. You do all the shady things on the throw away.

We can merry-go-round argue for years. Fact is, someone (most likely jp) got their panties bunched. and 2 of my accounts got an automated ban, one you could possibly say was deserved. The other, not a chance. And the main, no clue why it didn't.

The problem I have, and the only problem I have with this, is the lack of legitimacy. If I got popped in the act, I'd be fine with that. If something was provable in the logs, that'd be fine too. But to simply wait until I log the account out and send an email, is a very shitty business practice.

There's nothing complicated about it, you have characters performing actions without your direct input, which violates ToS, and you got caught. I don't give a crap what tools people use, but when you get caught, take it like a man instead of crying about how it's not fair.

Quoting myself, cause I guess you didn't read it. I know I'm doing shady things. And I'm not mad about it. I'm irritated by the shitty process that they've changed over to.

They don't even put in the effort anymore. Not even the courtesy to send you to mordion gaol anymore. Or to tell you that you got GOT. They just "fix the glitch" (points if you understand the reference lol).

Can't wait till one of you whiteknighting *** get banned because you outcamped some aggravated jp. Then come back and continue to praise square.

Isn't that like killing someone and thinking you got away with it? Then through evidence even your own admittance you're guilty. Right? Still get caught through evidence then pay for the crime.

That's the thing though, when you kill someone, there's obviously evidence. When you're "cheating" there is no evidence. You're running around killing things, or crafting things, or buying things. These are all things you would normally do.

I know that you youngins might find it hard to believe I've been in meripo's for 72 straight hours. Was I botting them? No. Was it *** stupid to stay up for 3 days to get merit points? Of course it was.

Any newer player would obviously assuming you're botting if you told them you were in a party for 3 straight days. Is that proof of botting that you stay in a zone killing things for multiple hours? Cause that's the only possible thing they could say. I stayed in the zone for more than 8 hours once or twice, so it must be a bot.

Being banned on the premise of being in a zone too long is pretty shady. And you're all on the side that says, yeah that's good enough to prove it's a bot. That's literally all they have.
well admittance is evidence, being that I've seen a few CSI shows. =/

Basically youre complaining because there were no preliminary, no lubrificant, no foreplay, it was just a huge and fat ban stick tearing it down.

I didnt know you were so romantic.

Of course its not proof. You can't say "oh hey, we saw you botting like 12 hours ago, but didn't ban you at the time, feel free to keep playing" "well wait until you log out to ban you".

Of course they can. Their game, their rules. You broke the rules, they decide if and when they will ban you.

It's reports. End of day somebody reported.

And yes, the method of notification is not what it used to be. Before you would get a debriefing of your actions and what to expect.

Now its just a suspension notice when you log in with an auto generated email indicating the section of the ToS you were flagged.

Even then there is no indication for the specific infraction that was incurred i.e clipping, botting, speed hacking etc. Just a general all encompassing quote of a ToS section.

You cheated. You got caught, obviously. Debating on the manner of how is pointless. Whatever methods you thought you took to protect yourself, did not work. You broke the ToS, hands down. Going back and forth about SE's policies is moot. Don't cheat, and you wouldn't be in this situation. Get caught? Blame yourself. SE obviously outsmarted you.

Be thankful it wasn't your main account, and move forward.

If you read the STF reports, they ban hundreds, sometimes thousands of accounts per month. Most of them are Chinese RMT and some are botters. You think GMs have time to bring each one to Mordion Gaol and explain everything to them? Not only is that a waste of man power but most are repeat offenders(people who make new accounts after every ban), and additionally many don't speak English. I don't think there's many Chinese speaking GM's to have a talk session everytime they ban an rmt. In otherwords it's more economical to just ban without the whole jailing+explanation

at this point, I question the existence of GMs outside of a couple overworked sods whereas there should be more of a team. contacting a GM is nigh impossible in game at this point.

undetectable is a stretch, you do no key input if you use a script command, if it's legit it requires some keypresses

(case in point, set auto disconnect to 20 minutes instead of off, turn on your lastsynth script, you still d/c 20 min later.. no legit way to keep synthing while client is idle)

This was an interesting observation, so I checked whether the idle metric was sent to the server somehow. As far as I can tell, it's not. I logged 1 hour of totally AFK sitting around and I only sent two types of packets:
1) Standard Client - Entirely consistent except that my Run Count went up to 6 about 10 seconds after I went afk (and then immediately dropped back down to 2) and went up to 5 about 7.5 minutes later (and then immediately dropped back down to 2). Run Count has always been a bit of a weird variable, and I'm not confident this is meaningful.
2) Sort Item - Itemizer randomly fired off a dozen or so Sort Item packets.

So they probably aren't sending a signal that codes for idleness. Next I checked if they were sending a signal that codes for keyboard activity by hitting some keys but not moving, performing any actions, or causing any packets to be sent. There were no changes in the standard client packet.

Arcon says there's a timestamp in memory that indicates the last user input. It is updated when you hit any key but does not update if you're just autorunning or using windower to input values to the outgoing text buffer, so it's likely the timestamp that controls auto-disconnect.

So, unless the minor fluctuations in Run Count were SE sending idle flags (somehow), we can pretty much rule out any kind of idleness reporting to the zone server that relies on user input devices. The one exception would be if the idle signal was sent to the lobby or world servers, which windower doesn't hook.

I don't think they should bring every char to Mordion Gaol, anyway i think that if they are gonna ban or suspend a long history account an explanation from a GM before disconnect the account should be given.

Personally i've never use any cheat or bot and i've started playing in 2007. 'Ive stopped for a couple of years in 2012 and when i've came back i've seen ppl botting like never before. since most ppl told me that SE was really soft now with their policy i've been attracted to dark side, mainly to the auto-farm Bot and i've tried it... results? after a week i've been suspended. I have to say that SE has the whole reason and it's my fault. I will never use it again btw after a long time playing I would have enjoyed been telled by GM mainly because i would like to know because when i was suspended i was actually playing with my 2nd char and i've never received any tell. Anyway the fault was mine and i totally recognize it. The only thing i'm wondering is... OK i've been suspended... WHY THE whole other world botting in ra-kaznar not? why all those ppl killing mandy just outside of adoulin not, why those players who actually passed me the bot are still there?

judge me if you want, i've made a mistake after a long periods of being a correct player... i've to say that i've done all my merits point party during ToAU... and to repeat it again with JP it's pretty boring that was the main reason who brought me to that bad decision.

in any case i found pretty ridiculous that while there are ppl literally teleporting to a zone to another in the same map to farm ZNM, others who can extend the time in dynamis until they want, and others who duplicate or triplicate alexandrites (i've finished a mythic a couple of weeks ago and i've bough something like 5k of alex to a char and the next day another 4k... someone explain me how's possible) i've been suspended for a couple of JP... (and i'm not trying to justify it i am wrong and i assume it!)

Waiting you to log off to make system actions seems normal to me.

Countless times my account was canceled by lack of payments (crysta stuff), but i never was kicked because i didnt pay, but next time i tried to log, i get the message.

I could say you can play eternally without paying if you never log off, but probably SE should have others mechanism to deal with this.

Actually I came home last night after drinking and noticed my three accounts were "Disconnected from Playonline". I thought I got b&, but I tried to log on to POL and was able to successfully without getting a LM message. Then I remembered (pretty drunk) that my visa got compromised a week ago and I never changed the billing method. I fixed that up and was able to log on just fine.

They can disconnect you themselves to change your stuff, they dont have to "wait for you to log off".

Two things:
Quetzalcoatl.Valli said: »
No contact, No evidence, No proof, No verification required. Used to be a time when you had to be caught doing shady ***, not anymore.

In 2006 3 LS members were banned for pos'ing throughout sky, Riverne Site B, and Delkfutt (sp?) Tower. None of these players were pulled aside and spoken to by a GM. All of these players received notification upon logging in. It is a poignant memory as we didn't have triggers on-hand for a planned event because of it.

I was issued a 72 hour suspension via an LM menu, when I logged in, for doing the same. No jail, no discussion. This isn't new. Whatever made you think that this is new is incorrect.

Why do you think that anyone has to submit anything for your approval?

Do you really need your own ***rubbed in your face in order to accept that it's yours? "Innocent until proven guilty" doesn't apply to Vana'del, and even if it did, your opinion of the case brought against you WOULDN'T MATTER.

I hope you don't use "you have to catch me in order to punish me" logic in the future. Not only is it short-sighted and immature, it could cost you a lot.

I think he's just doing what most players do: thinking that if GMs do X for a Y situation, they'll do X for any situation.

Before I was an employee, I was once heavily reported for holding Khimaira, having JP in my bazaar comment and for having "gay boys in bondage - punish yourself" (it's a song, I swear) in my search comment.
After we killed Khimaira, I was jailed in the middle of Zi'Tah (otw to Sky). The SGM (yes, SGM) told me that I had been reported for all of this in the previous few days, and he asked me to justify every point.
Long story short, I was sent back to Zi'Tah not long after without any punishment and the SGM apologised. I contacted them back the day after to regularize something and once again, they apologised and told me everything was fine.

In this situation, the GM jailed me as, 1) he needed more, accurate information and 2) if he wanted to be stubborn and punish me, he needed to talk to me (usual procedure).

However, if he had the proof of me being actually guilty through any of those 3 accusations, he could have used a very rare and exceptional policy and simply kick me out of the game and apply the suspension. I'm not going to go into details but, as a general rule, if the GM is able to, you'll go through jail. It's actually a mistake and can net you some problems with your hierarchy if you do not jail a player.
If you weren't jailed, it means what you did followed a different flow which allowed you to be suspended without talking to you.
Also keep in mind that each region uses different policies.

TL;DR: ***is situational. Just because someone got suspended/punished a certain way doesn't mean it'll be the same for you. Also, keep in mind that most people lie regarding their punishments to avoid looking like idiots. The post that I made once on BG and that someone quoted recently is a good example.

He's talking about in-game tools.

Either way, I'd be shocked if less than 50% of forum-posters don't use at least a windower program, if not a lot more. The big difference isn't whether they use tools, it's that of all the people who have been banned for it recently, only one person is crying like a baby about how unfair it is.

I hang out w/ a former GM (who will remain nameless) whenever I'm in CA.

(S)he would always tell me about what you could and couldn't get away with and if you were jailed, what to say. Like if you get jailed for speed hacking, just say that you got some new hardware and a new internet connection and things have been jumpy and they'll tell you to contact support and make sure it doesn't happen again

Even the so-called GM uses the word proof. What possible proof could they possibly have when there is none to be had?

How does one determine "idle/afk" without actually asking if you are indeed afk. As far as I'm concerned it's impossible.

All the ***I say refers to main, every dumb thing I do is on Valli. No one, literally no one knows I have a third account.
