Better screenshots/videos @ http://www.bluegartrls.com/forum/79109-final-fantasy-xiv-gamescom-2009-updated.html There are videos of this, much more clear.

"JAJA." It surely looks better than anything else available right now. The dodos running away was hilarious. lol Doesn't seem drastically different, though. I swear if you have to press "Ranged Attack" every time you want to shoot still, I'm gonna lose it. lol Still a single rolling chatlog for all messages as well it seems, which I'm not thrilled about if that remains the same. Strongly doubt anything bad will keep me trying it on day-1, though. http://www.ffxivcore.com/
This might have been posted before, too lazy to look but, there's actual videos now. They destroyed Tarus. :(

I found that, dunno f it will satisfise somes curiousity; try it out ^^; http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/FFXIV/video/xa2dpy_ffxiv-e3-2009-interview-de-tanaka-a_videogames Looks like the german text on this card... I wonder what it says..
JP version of this card Jesus, these graphics look killer.. Compare those graphics to contemporary examples coming out ~around~ the same time, Star Wars: The old Republic, Guild Wars 2.
No contest. And the whole "Our art style isn't to make it photorealistic" is 2 things, a cop out, and still no excuse for the horrible animations both those games present. If nothing else, FFXIV will raise the bar for MMO graphical standards, gameplay could be a different thing, we'll have wait and see. lol graphic arent so good i tested it and i can tell you its really not good atm need thats alpha dont reflect final product

TBH I don't like it when a game I like has Graphics like Crysis >.> then my pc Can't run it *** YEAH CLASSIC CACTAUR Neph said: Galvaya said: FoV +1 :D Its a guild mission to kill "dodo x6" and "pugs x3" reward: 2k Bonus: mightydrink time limit:30min Cerberus.Finalvegeta

It pretty much means that the number of Dodos and Puks near the city is increasing and they could be a danger for the patroulling soldiers. Owner of this charter(?) (thats how they call that quest window) are allowed to kill them. Required skill level: 0 City: Limsa Lominsa Starting position:Camp Bartelrock Timelimit: 30 minutes Conditions: none BP-kosten: 10 (Dunno what that is) Reward: 2000Gil Bonus: Strengh potion Execute certain monsters! Dodo x 6 Puk x 3 this looks like a remake of XI with prettier graphics and some ideas/effects redone with newer tech.... I was expecting an entirely different feel, not something I can already recognize and thoroughly understand from day 1.
Honestly it looks like any other Final Fantasy, not just XI, which is perfectly fine with me. Only thing I do wish was completely different races. This is fine though, since it's super sexy.
Eagleeyes said: *** YEAH CLASSIC CACTAUR 1000 Needles The guild leave system reminds me more of the NM hunting system from FFXII, except not just for NMs but for regular mobs too. As long as all the quests aren't "kill 20 of X mob" and have some real variety like the quests in XI do, then it's just another win in my book.
Edit: Then again, if it is purely killing monsters (Normal and NM) and they have quests on top of this, that'd be fine too. Makes it more like FoV but with a point, could also be some MMM style stuff in there too. Nieko said: this looks like a remake of XI with prettier graphics and some ideas/effects redone with newer tech.... I was expecting an entirely different feel, not something I can already recognize and thoroughly understand from day 1. The character advancement changes alone make FFXIV a far cry already from XI. This is going to be the deciding factor if I will continue to play XI or switch to XIV. The system almost sounds like an Elder Scrolls - FFIX hybrid, but there is no info on how your character physically grows (we Just know how skills increase and abilities are learned, physical growth is HP, Attributes, ect.) if there is no "Exp" the only way I can think of, is your character naturally grows with your skills. Like if you use a Sword, your STR, DEX, HP and other physical attributes increase. A staff, and your MP, INT and MND increase (Using FFXi attributes as the best analogous example available, the examples are arbitrary til we know more.) If there is no "Job" Changing (Just titles depending on the skills/Equipment you are using) then one would imagine your power never decreases like in FFXI. Where if you switch jobs, you will be that jobs level, but this is just all speculation on my part. Regarding the Guildleave system though, I really like it's conceptual design and presentation. Everything from the artistically drawn cards, to the mercenary contract-esque descriptions is a nice immersive touch, not an easy thing to do with an MMO. You can tell so far that this isn't just a shoehorned attempt to drain us for more money, someone behind those desks has passion about this. |
