I would want a few more details on how this developed personally. Generally when a person hears a father/daughter they get the mental picture of a girl raised by daddy for so long progressing form there. But the artical says shes 18 now and had been dating 2 years. That would imply she was 16 when this started. It also says they were estranged for 12 years. So he could have been out of the picture by the time she was 3-4. She could have have no memories of this guy what so ever when she met him. It could be the story of two ppl that just meet and progressed form there and just happened to be related.

Reminds me of a story i saw many years back of a married couple with children. The guy was an adopted child raise by his adoptive family. Eventually meet a girl who also happened to be adopted by a different family. The fell for each other, got married, had kids, all that stuff. THEN found out they were both actually put on the underground adoption market by the same women. - They were brother/sister. - Wtf do you do at that point? When you find out the person you love and devoted you life to is related. Throw it all away because of some dna? Continue on at the mockery and judgment of others?

So i would wonder just how the chronological events happened with those two.

But.. it still makes me wonder what the hell is going on in this adult guys head when he starts dating a 16yo. And wtf is wrong with her when shes dating guys that old and by 17-18 already committed to marriage and having many kids... I would bet that at least 75% of the people on this planet have some form of incest in their family history. It may have been thousands of years ago, but it's there.

The one thing on the New Jersey case in the OP is that the father basically molested his daughter. She sounds as if she has some abandonment issues and instead of seeking help the dad is taking advantage of it.
