Anyone care to tl;dr what ppl are arquing about
Spicy makes a guide saying that the average player looking into drg rema should make Trish because it's better in terms of effort v. reward (and generally, actually, as of writing); user on this forum takes offense to it, says wrongomiant is better because reasons, spends last five pages arguing against everyone else that "my spear is better than yours"

I may have glossed over details but if I don't care, you probably don't either

Edit: I did a typo

In an attempt to change the topic from the last 20 pages of RMEA debate:

What gear is worth getting for Spirit Link? Spicy’s guide has a nice outline of the pieces that enhance spirit link, but is the enhancement only a reduction of sacrificed HP? Are there any other enhancements to the buffs transferred, etc?

Relic feet augment increases duration of transferred buffs. 5% duration per Empathy merit.

Empy hands remove additional debuffs from the wyvern.

Praktik earring has a straight spirit link+50 on it.. Presumably a very minor hp restored+ 50? But I haven't actually seen any testing on that.

EDIT: Oh, and there is one other way to increase the amount healed but it's pretty minor.

Spirit link has a MND mod. Basically every 1 MND = 2 additional HP restored, if I'm reading the formula right. Now I don't really recommend collecting MND gear for this, but you can at least fill in extra slots with whatever pieces have the most MND.

Okay so this is hopefully taken care of now.

I get that people will disagree with things said on the internets but please try to at least remain more civil then the garbage that has gone on in the last few pages. If you cannot remain civil you can and will be removed from the discussion.

Sort of big update:
Added Ryu, added drakesbane gear, added drakes to stats tab. Ryu AM3 is supported and maintained, otherwise Ryu will use stardiver at 1K. Also fixed an issue with ws acc not applying. On the stats tab, ws acc is added to your acc total, but hit rate is not increased, so if wearing both fotia pieces, you only need 85% hit rate on the stats tab, but it is applying during ws calculation now. I also added a few pieces to go along with drakesbane. AM3 from ryu is also not applying to jumps properly, so for now I removed them until I get that figured out and will likely add them in with jump set options.

just need the exe out of dist folder and drg_equip.txt (even if you don't want to add your own equipment)

edit: if you downloaded before this edit, you'll want to get again. forgot a line that counts down ryu am3 so it never disappeared once active.

If anyone is familiar with editing bgwiki the Relic feet with augment should be added to DRG guide, and also mentioned on the spirit link page.

Regarding relic feet, since the augment is for empathy and not spirit link, it's not directly listed on SL. The equipment and its effect are both on the corresponding empathy page, however.

I'll mention the inclusion of the feet in the guide to spicy.

A couple of questions from someone picking up DRG again after a long time. I'm having trouble getting meaningful information from this thread at the moment as you have to go back too far to find any kind of posted equipment.

1. What is the goal as far as hit builds on drg now? Is a true 4-hit build even viable, or do you just run with a 5-hit and lots and lots of DA?

2. Which weaponskills do you make gearsets for? Obviously Stardiver (Drakesbane by extension) and Camlann's Torment. Sonic Thrust? Is that too dangerous to use because AoE?

3. Can we do any good 4/5 step SCs?

4. What priorities do you focus on for Jumps/High Jumps?

5. Same question but for Spirit Jumps/Soul Jumps?

Here is my current TP set. Basically, gear I have for my war or sam.

ItemSet 354518

Augments are:
Reienkyo: DMG:+23, STR+15, Accuracy+25, Attack+26
Valorous Mail: STR+8, Accuracy+20, Attack+25, DA+4
Valorous Mitts: Accuracy+39, Attack+35, DA+4
Valorous Hose: DEX+9, Accuracy+37, Attack+38, WSD+2

I'm using Valorous Mitts because I'm 1% Haste short from 25%, otherwise I'd use Sulevia's Gauntlets

Here is my Stardiver Set. Again, gear I already have.

ItemSet 354102

Same augments.
What do you do for Brigantia's? STR+30, Accuracy+20, Attack+20, DA+10? Would you do do the same for Drakesbane only Crit Rate instead of DA?

Would someone mind giving advice on where i can improve those sets?

1. What is the goal as far as hit builds on drg now? Is a true 4-hit build even viable, or do you just run with a 5-hit and lots and lots of DA? If you're using anything other than Trishula or Ryunohige, a 5 hit with multi-attack is typically what you should shoot for.

2. Which weaponskills do you make gearsets for? Obviously Stardiver (Drakesbane by extension) and Camlann's Torment. Sonic Thrust? Is that too dangerous to use because AoE? Sonic Thrust is amazing. And allows for you to create distortion. I'll throw some examples in the next question of SCs. I think I currently use the same set of gear for Camlann's as I do for sonic thrust. You already hit the main WSs to gear for though

3. Can we do any good 4/5 step SCs?
Stardiver >>> Camlann's >>> Drakesbane >>> Camlann's
Drakesbane >>> Stardiver >>> Camlann's >>> Drakesbane >>> Camlann's
Stardiver >>> Sonic Thrust >>> Stardiver >>> (Stardiver)
(Once you get Trishula you can add the third Stardiver)
These are the main SCs I use. Top 2 are double light. Final one is darkness and then double dark once you obtain Trishula.
You could get crazy with the below SC. But good luck finding something that will either survive it or that doesn't interrupt you in some way. :)
Stardiver >>> Sonic Thrust >>> Drakesbane >>> Stardiver >>> Camlann's >>> Drakesbane >>> Camlann's

4. What priorities do you focus on for Jumps/High Jumps? I use the same gear as my TP gear. Maintaining your x-hit is most important in my opinion and then multi attack. Don't use jump/high jump for gaining TP if your wyvern is alive. High Jump still useful for hate loss if necessary.

5. Same question but for Spirit Jumps/Soul Jumps? See above.

Would someone mind giving advice on where i can improve those sets? Your sets are looking really good. I would re augment your valorous hose to multi-attack and str. I'm personally using Sulevia +2 Pants for Stardiver. If you've been gone a few months you've likely missed Spicy's guide. https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Here_Be_DRGs Fun to read through for a good refresher on drg and he hits on a lot of the different gear sets as you're progressing.

Edited because it made my eyes bleed with the way I had it bolded originally.

1. Based on this, I'm going to have to switch out Lissome Necklace for Anu Torque.

2. Cool

5. Yeah, I found that guide shortly after I had posted. I thought I had come across it earlier but was having issues.

I'll probably farm another Valorous Hose and start trying to augment it. I'm going to keep this one for now for my WAR anyway. Suleviaa +2 pants are what I'm looking at making with Ambuscade this month.

made a minor update to my sim include misers roll and fixed the stat tab to show hit rate being affected when using ws acc gear.

hopefully next update will be with the new UI and features I had set for WAR, but i've been a bit sick so I don't know when that will be.

Thinking of *maybe* coming back after a long stint of XIV which doesn't satisfy the same cravings that XI filled. That said I quit around the time that Empy119 gear came out. So I missed the final expansion, omen, and ambuscade. Has anything changed much about DRG since then? When I quit, I had nearly perfect augments for Acro/Tae on gear with like +25 attack and was dmg and triple attack etc. Also had a second set of it with perfect +Breath augments and Breath acc. I think I also missed the last set of Job Points and Gift for DRG as well. Other than that have we gotten any updates or buffs? Is the latest Bis equipment significantly better? I heard Ryu is like 3rd best weapon now, which is sad because I loved Ryus playstyle.

the buff from having Wyvern out was pretty huge, it's basically a full time Berserk/Hasso provided you can keep the rat alive, and happened after you left, I THINK. having said that, your gear is going to be largely outdated (except your breath sets). you'll want some Omen for accessories and such (DRG AF is largely worthless save for.... legs for Wyvern HP iirc), otherwise, you will want to spend some time in Reisenjima for Valorous pieces and Ambuscade for Flamma, the latter is a massive boon to people like yourself as something easy to obtain but actually being useful. the Zuchetto +2 seems to be BiS for the jobs that can wear it.

these days folks focus on getting as much multi-attack as possible (which devalues Ryu's AM3) and go for big WS/Skillchain damage, making Trishula the weapon of choice if you can get one - Rhongomiant being an expensive alternative. Afterglowing your Gungnir or Ryunohige would give you a leg up, as it is still better than other non-RMEA options (though Raetic Halberd may be worth looking into as well, not really sure on numbers for it yet); depending what sort of social group is available to you will affect your weapon choices as well.

Since you already have a Ryu, I'd recommend just getting it afterglowed and using it until Trish. Raetic HQ is around the same as Gungnir in an Escha zone, but that's without any set optimization, so potentially better than Gungnir. Rolls will also change the hierarchy between those two a little bit, but Ryu is the best of the three either way.

It is just a matter of getting in a group that can kill the Eschan Zone mobs. I think there are groups that sell Aeonic runs and say they can complete one in 4 hours. These are typically smn burn groups offering this service. Farming 50,000 beads takes awhile of burning the dragon in Reisenjima. That can even be done in under a week without too much trouble.

The difficulty will be finding or building a group capable of defeating the HELM NMs in Reisenjima. But building an Aeonic is faster than any of the other REMs by far.

updated sim with new items. Nothing spectacular, though the new volt set has applications with it's high magic evasion and fairly small DPS loss (particularly body/hands.) I also have a new link since google wants to intermittently block my files from being downloaded:

Quick question if someone would be so kind as to explain to me in simple terms as to what our 1200 job point gift does?

"Wyvern Attribute Increase Effect: Grants a chance for the master to attack twice when the wyvern's attributes are boosted. Increases chance of attacking twice by 2% for each time attributes are boosted."

I read this and am still lost.

Sorry for the retard moment.

It gives the master a DA proportional to the wyvern's level of increased attributes, similar to the haste/acc/attk increase you receive native to a leveled-up wyvern.

Assuming it follows the same pattern, at capped EXP(one Spirit Link with Empathy merits) the master should receive 10% DA

Haven't seen numbers regarding this yet, but the stats on the new relic head would suggest that you can also hit the "Enhances breath" cap with the head alone.

If you didn't have lancer's torque & glassblower's belt to max out this cap this might be good for you, but I don't know of any other pet/wyvern gear in these slots which could take their place if you're already using them (maybe a pet hp neck?). At the moment I don't really see that much of an incentive to +3 the head piece if you already have the flamma +2 head and torque/belt.

Can't pass up those +10% WSD hands, though. :)
