Sparthosx. This is the reason why people around the world laugh at the citizens of the USA. Because keep letting our government make bad decisions while not speaking up or just ignoring the problems.

As if the people of the world are objectively better than US citizens. Idiots are idiots, intellectuals are intellectuals. Europe can get all uppity if they like but they're the ones that nearly destroyed their continent twice in the past hundred years.

Diabetes is an epidemic because people are shoveling 'food' into their gullets that no one, not even the manufacturers know will actually do to the human digestive tract all in the name of driving down prices to meet demand.

You think those preservatives, filler and shortcuts have no repercussions? I could literally find any piece of food right now, question the individual on it and maybe one food geek in one hundred could tell me what the *** is in it.

But carry on, EBOLA!!! PANIC. FEAR. I hear Glenn Beck says it could mutate and kill us all. Sometimes I wonder what that guy mutated from himself.

That may be the case for some folks, but I've found that in speaking to people from other countries, they more frequently laugh at the US for having no clue about what's going on in the world, or assuming that the world centers around the US when, in fact, most of them give about as much of a *** about the US as you give about their country you may or may not be able to locate on the map. (Not you specifically, "you" as in average American).

Or for our food.

Actually, most of the grief I get from European friends is about our food.

Actually viruses can mutate and quite frequently do. Doesn't matter if that fear monger beck says it or not.

We've covered this already: "good" viruses mutate, typically ones that don't kill off their host rapidly and instead let them live and spread.

host dies, virus dies.

So it is pointless fear mongering.

Oh man, if only it was so easy an argument.

Different friends from different countries have different gripes.

English friend makes fun of our bacon for being too little and burned to a crisp. Belgian friend makes fun of English and Americans for eating bacon at all. French friend eats snails and acts...French. Canadians act superior about their big beer brands being better than the U.S.'s even though it's the same mass-produced swill as made in the U.S. Oh, and the Canadians call ham bacon.

...come to think of it, a lot of the food discussions out there involve bacon.

Edit: and for the completely pointless record, if I'm indugling in a fatty steak, I prefer a New York strip steak.

Excessive soy consumption is detrimental. Japanese diets notwithstanding due to other balancing factors in their diets.

I lul at thinking Beck cares about the actual definition of the word mutate. I've sat and watched The Blaze and jeez, you thought TYT was hammering away an agenda? I get more balance from RT.

It's like throwing around the word radiation. It's a word people associate with horrible ***happening to you or turning into a super hero and last I checked no one's donned the cloak as Ebolaman, able to projectile vomit 50 yards, leap buildings in a single bound and destroy West Africa with bodily fluids.

Some people I know do this:

and it makes me sad.

Then there's always this:

and I'll pass on judging on that Bacon.

British vs. (slightly overcooked) American bacon.

My preference:

Thick-cut bacon, preferably baked, not fried. You get the marvelous crisp outside with a little chew to it, and it hasn't bathed in its own grease that way.

Thing bad about bacon here is that there isn't a big enough font for it. Bacon needs four inch letters.

Geeze our idiot in chief picked someone to be the "Ebola czar" and he has no medical experience what so ever. When are you Obama supporters going to wake up to the fact that he has no clue what so ever about what it is to be a leader.
Is there anything else needed to prove that this administration prioritizes politics over everything. This new Czar isn't a Dr, he's the guy Gore had as chief of staff to bully his way through the Florida recount.

Politics over everything!
