Also, we don't go to bed until we're hungover, which doesn't happen until 4:00 AM, or 26 beers, and 17 shots of whiskey later. Pfft. I've yet to meet an American who doesn't get completely pastered into the ground after 5 beers. Canadians just have a higher tolerance level to alcohol, much like the Irish. Except we make the Irish our *** when it comes to drinking. ***looks like molasses with foam. GIMME!
And how many people know the origins of a stout beer? I have some circles where I'm towing people behind me and others where I'm pushed kicking and screaming. Bismarck.Bloodrose said: » ***looks like molasses with foam. GIMME! I was referring to the time the stupid state run beer stores close.
which was 8:00pm in toronto when we used to hang out there.. did they change that? one guy had an alarm set on his watch lol. I did like how your case of beer came down the conveyor though... that was pretty magical Ragnarok.Nausi said: » Why would you imply that "hope" is needed? I rather talk about imperial stouts than imperial...um what were we talking about again ?
I had a peanut butter beer which I thought would be nasty. Ended up tastes like a Reese's peanut butter cup. I'm pretty sure it's to die fat & high on the toilet, like elvis, but I could be wrong, it's been a few years since I investigated the subject. Please this isn't fiction, it's the real world!
Truth is often stranger than fiction.
Also this: "With fiction, you have to have rules, guidelines, and some kind of science; Reality is much harsher, and doesn't need to follow those rules" or something. It was a semi-famous quote, and i'll buy a beer for the first person to find the correct quote. Bismarck.Bloodrose said: » watered down beers don't get people drunk. I wish I could still get hammered on as little booze as it took me when I was a college freshman. My wallet and liver would be much happier. Being Canadian has nothing to do with it, though. The only people who readily brag about how much they can drink are still too stuck in a college-level mindset. If you're counting your drinks, you're an amateur. Edit: Also, you know that high tolerance for alcohol's effects doesn't equate to your liver, kidneys, or - if you're a lifelong alcoholic, your heart - somehow having less damage due to your alcohol consumption? You may not readily feel the effects during each drinking session, but rest assured that the more it takes you to get hammered, you're than many steps closer to cirrhosis or cardiomyopathy. Nik, how many bars do you know that can legally operate at 7:00Am in the morning?

I don't drink beer, I go straight for the wine or liquor. Although my tolerance has probably weakened since I barely drink anymore.
I know a guy who used to drink a case a day...
