Meanwhile Hungarian PM says the wall along Serbian border has to be built faster.

Mind blowing stuff. The immigrants don't even want to stay in Hungary, they're just using it to pass by and reach Germany or northern countries.
And Serbian governemtn is mad at this wall thing.

Is he trying to make the other countries pay for it?

It's bitterly hilarious that the highest, "elite" echelon of wealth holders has bought so many politicians and other public opinion pushers that we as a country actually think people aren't deserving of a decent life for a full day of legitimate work.

And if you think a full day of service industry work isn't legitimate, you're so irreparably jaded that nothing further said here matters.

That people think toiling in misery is a proud American trait -- and that people need to see others toiling miserably beneath them to feel validated -- speaks volumes to the problems we have right now.

Blame the workers for accepting minimum wage then?

If nobody is willing to work at Walmart for 7.25 an hour, Walmart will have no choice but to offer 8.00 an hour. If nobody is willing to work at Walmart for 8.00 an hour, the price keeps increasing.

Same goes for every industry. Why do you think accountants do not work for minimum wage, and most "bookkeepers" out there charge $50-100 an hour for their work? Bookkeepers who actually know what they are doing costs $125+ an hour.

Same goes for independent welders, craftsmen, and other independent workers.

If the market is flooded with no-skilled minimum wage workers, you know, people who don't want to get an education or try for skilled work, then you are going to have the lowest wage possible.

Oh wait, that's supply-sided economics some people thinks doesn't exist because they have no clue what it is...

Really? It's employers who have the power over this market..there's people who are desperate and will even let employers abuse them if it's their only choice.
But it doesn't make it fine..

A country that doesn't value higher education amidst a rising swell of technology obsoleting unskilled labor as kiosks and automation threaten to wipe out what's left of the bottom.

Somehow, we still have people decrying higher education and skilled job training as being a 'waste of time'.

Let's see. We have a record numbers of people who are of working age that aren't working. 94 million and change as of last month which is the highest that number has ever been.

People have not yet been put back to work since the crash.

So there's one metric.

A short comic worth reading on the topic at hand.

The likelihood of anyone who needs to take it to heart doing so is extremely slim, but I don't think anyone here that hasn't already been banned is beyond hope entirely. Sooo.
