I only watched it in college, and because I had two roommates who were really into it. It was pretty awful, but amusing. Triple H was the only one I ever liked while he was a good guy, but when he did the turn I cared even less.

Doesn't change a thing about the entertainers though. They're pretty impressive in their own right.

It's amazing how much the industry has changed over the years. I kind of liked the old, campy years of WWF. You know, before it became white trash entertainment. I'd say it's rebounded since then, but I haven't paid enough attention to care.

Uh. You mean when it was only white trash entertainment? Because the Iron Sheikh wasn't exactly the pinnacle of arts and entertainment, amusing as he may have been.

I mean, the white trash literally had their own avatar in Hacksaw Jim Duggan.

I actually liked Jim Duggan. Maybe my sense of time is a bit off, but I'm more referring to a time where the fun of pro wrestling was replaced by everyone trying to be the most "hardcore". The Undertaker went from being some guy associated with death to... a biker dude?

The discussion of pro wrestling is similar to politics it is all fake but we still watch it anyways !

I never could get into wrestling.

I just looked at my latest assignment. 10 pages on risk management. No joke, it feels like a Seinfeld episode. Only this has to relate to the Hillsborough disaster of '89.

I needed to go get some codeine for this one.

That was just the late 90s-early 2000s. That's when I was vicariously watching (because I heard about it even if I wasn't watching). It was during the years of Undertaker's biker phase.

Like I said, I had a few guys I liked, mostly it's always just been a soap opera for men, though.

All I'm saying is quick dash to Hobby Lobby for some red, white and blue streamers and I got a beret. That's how it works, right? Break a couple of prop chairs and you're good.

Cheers and applause erupted as the Confederate battle flag was removed Friday from the South Carolina Capitol, ending a decades-long fight that was reignited after the murders of nine members of a historically black Charleston church.

"Take it down! Take it down!" the crowd chanted as an honor guard from the South Carolina Highway Patrol marched toward the flag pole.

Two troopers reeled the flag down and folded it as onlookers took photos and broke out in song, while others bellowed, "USA! USA!" They handed the flag to a black trooper, who brought it to the steps of the Statehouse and handed it to a state archivist.


The dignified ceremony, which lasted less than 10 minutes, was a shocking end to a complicated chapter in the history of the American South. The rapid pace at which lawmakers debated whether to remove the controversial rebel banner — and then voted to do just that — stunned observers.

An emblem of Civil War and Southern pride, the flag is also widely viewed as a symbol of racism. It was first raised above the South Carolina State House in Columbia to protest the civil rights movement in 1962. Since then, opponents of have been campaigning to take it down. In a 2000 compromise, the flag was moved to a flagpole on the Capitol grounds, and the state legislature was given the sole power to lower it.


Throngs of people gathered ahead of the flag being taken down. Lawmakers and relatives of the victims of the church massacre stood on the steps of the Statehouse to watch, many with tears in their eyes. Gov. Nikki Haley, who had called for the lowering of the flag, stood among them, but did not speak. She clapped as the flag, tied up with string, was handed to the state archivist.

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety estimated the crowd size to be between 8,000 and 10,000 people.
