Why the *** do married couples get to reach 220k for the cutoff?! ACLU HELP MEH True story, three of my friends are getting married just because they drop to a lower tax bracket. But polygamy is illegal! Or if you don't have a shitty reality show on TLC!

Only a few limitations are doubled when you go from Single status to Married filing jointly status. Most limitations are not. However, MFJ has much better tax rates than Single, so married couples (most of the time) benefit more from being married than filing single and/or MFS. fonewear said: » How YouTube Video Placeholder Asura.Kingnobody said: » Odin.Zicdeh said: » My only takeaway from this conversation so far is that the government discriminates against single people. Or are you not for Lower Taxes? Amongst other things Utah is famous for, it should be noted that Utah was not accepted as a state for almost 50 years until it forced the ban of polygamy by way of restricting the rights of those who practiced it.
Polygamy to Utah is like pot to stoners. Take my wives please !

Or are you not for Lower Taxes? Do you want everyone to pay MFJ rates, regardless of filing status? Do you want the MFJ rates to apply as the base, and have all other rates conform to that (instead of having Single rates as the base rate)? Backread a few pages. All I learned was that not being a productive member of society means you deserve to die from either exposure, starvation or illness. And I suppose your kids/family as well.
Y'know, the things that the bare necessities are required for to survive. That's pretty ***' harsh. Ragnarok.Raenil said: » Backread a few pages. I do not believe it's the government's place to dictate lifestyle by artificial financial incentives, especially when some states are allowed to deny that right to other people.
