I feel unsafe in a world where people would blow themselves up over a political cartoon. I feel unsafe in a world where an Army psychiatrist shoots up a base and 5 years later, an Army admin does the exact same thing in the exact same base. I feel unsafe in a world where two brothers decides to blow up a marathon.
There are too many crazy people in the world who thinks that they have to make a stand and must do it as publicly as possible. What better way to make a statement than to attack a military exercise where the soldiers are firing blanks or nonlethal ammo.
Haven't you noticed (probably not, seeing how you ignore every single time I mentioned this) that I'm not saying that this is to protect Texan citizens from the US Army. I'm saying that this is to protect both sides from *** from both sides.
You may not understand it, because you aren't a citizen with a big target painted on it like the US, but there are too many whackos out there that will see this as an opportunity to kill as many people as possible and create a mass turmoil. It has happened far too often lately. 1. I'm a US citizen. This has been known for a couple of years on this site. For that matter I've had this conversation with you.
Also Denmark has been under several threats and attacks by terrorists because of cartoons and their support of the US. Including an attack a few months ago. But as you continuelly demonstrate a serious lack of international news knowledge it doesn't surprise me that you don't know this.
2. You think the State Guard is more prepared to handle a potential terrorist plot or gunmen inside a military operation than three branches of the military? Observing outside restricted zones is freaking HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. The soliders who are participating in the exercise are using blanks. The temporary perimeter will be secured, unless you think the US military doesn't know how to do this?
Abott could have discussed matters with the DoD and probably had observers installed within the activities. It would surprise me if parts of the TX National Guard weren't invited to observe. Instead he posts a letter on his website ordering his State Guard General to watch and report on US military activities. This was a PR bone for the crazies and ended up pissing a lot of non-crazy people off.
3. You didn't say for both sides: you specifically stated for people who were next to the operation.
So? Wouldn't you feel unsafe and insecure when a military operation, even if it's for training purposes, were to happen next to you?
How about next time, you ask the US Military to conduct training exercises in Denmark and see if you won't ask your military to watch over things.
4. You seem to have absolutely no idea how frequently training exercises happen.
5. It's frankly your choice if you want to feel unsafe from unlikely events all the time. But don't expect everyone to feel the same or contain their criticisms for a state politician trying to court favor with conspirarcy (to use your phrase) flower heads.

This subject has been gone from comical to exhausting in the week's time it has taken to proliferate. Just one question...How does this even differ from annual military training and maneuvers every summer at Fort Hood that has been going on for decades now?
This is all so ridiculous.

It's official, result of the UK general election is a majority Conservative government.
I would be nice if politicians in the US took a cue from the UK as far as bowing out gracefully like Miliband and Clegg. They were in terrible positions to continue, both Labour and Lib Dem had horrible elections.
Lib Dem results were sort of expected, many people who voted for them in the previous general election felt let down by their broken promises upon forming a coalition with the conservatives but I don't think they were expected to be reduced to 8 seats, terrible for the party always seen as the 3rd major party.
Labour on the other hand did a lot worse based on expectations, while they were expected to lose most of their seats in Scotland due to the rise of the SNP, they were unable to retain any seats in Scotland.
In regard to the election on a whole, every poll before the election suggested a neck and neck contest between the Tories and Labour, the fact the Tories were able to gain a majority speaks volumes for Labour's failings.

SO everyone is crazy, just to varying degrees, and we arbitrarily draw the line that says that everyone on one side of the line is sane enough to believe they might be crazy and everyone on the other side is so far gone they can't consider the possibility.
RIGHT and so then, we kill all the killers that want to kill us... but then we are still left with the killers that killed the killers unless we kill those killers and then we are the killers and this sort of thing keeps going on for fifty thousand years while we all wait for some higher power to step in and end the madness...
but it isn't ever going to stop.

It can't be because he is disabled. He is a Republican, and only liberals use the excuse of a minority and possibly disabled person as an excuse against any opposition from the government.
I guess you feel threatened by him for some reason. I promise you, Texas is not going to annex Denmark. Why would we, you have nothing we need or care about, nor are you a threat to our security.

Actually it's quite the opposite, the UK has one of the lowest tax rates amongst first world nations atm, Conservatives are pretty known for this, low taxes through privatisation.
Our highest tax band right now is 45% but the bulk of UK workers are probably on the lowest 20% rate, as for austerity, I suspect that will continue as the Tories have set the goal of having a surplus by 2020.
