Why require driver's licenses to drive, people can just make fake ID right?

Because cops will compare the ID with a database to get information about you, so having a fake license is pointless, just do like thousands of people and drive without one.

You could compare voter ID to teens getting into clubs with fake ID's.

I had a friend who used to make fake ID that ran in the database.

We waste so much money on the military. We spend literal billions on equipment the military doesn't even want. The Army brass says to cut funding and discontinue use of a tank type because it costs more than it's worth, other equipment they already have can do the job.

Congress re-ups it.

Air Force says that continuing to maintain certain aircraft is pointless, it isn't needed and wastes money and manpower.

Congress re-ups it.

Ugh. This isn't even "supporting the troops". It's writing contracts for campaign supporters.

I'm saying it's a budget that just favors all of the GOP's supporters and hurts lower-income Americans.
No, it wouldn't. It actually has a great chance of spurring investment and innovation, which will create jobs, especially unskilled jobs that lower income people depend on. It would make US taxes more competitive with other countries and not force companies to send jobs overseas just to save a little on their tax bill. It will create a better environment for investments and pump more money into companies to help them grow and compete in today's international market.

You are just saying that because you don't understand the medium-longer term effects of creating a better business environment.

Also, it appears he's saying that so much of things will be "left up to the states", which is basically saying, "we're not going to raise your taxes, but we'll sure as ***open the door for you state to do so instead."
I'm sorry that Pennsylvania has such a shitty taxation system. Trust me, I just finished my first PA individual tax return. It was the stupidest return I have ever seen, the calculations regarding those forms needs to be rethought. It's like cavemen decided to beat the code in a rock and hope it came out right.

I mean, who uses that method of adding back federal depreciation and trying to calculate PA depreciation? I had to do it by hand just to make sure that it was right, and the form had it calculating wrong...

I like to think all that military equipment we left in Iraq to save money was safely disposed of. Or are in the hands of an Iraqi military dedicated to defending essential liberties and the common folk, regardless of their religious background...

Oh wait, they're being used by ISIS. Woop woop.

You expect too much from the government.

I wouldn't even expect the government to understand it's own forms it uses on a daily basis.

The joke is that they left all that equipment behind to SAVE money on shipping but unintentionally left a treasure trove for the ISIS fighters we'll more likely than not have to fight on the ground later.

Wouldn't even care if they took more from the people they should and learned how to spend it properly. They like to say "well companies wouldn't be here if we charge them more," to which I say, "Good, let them *** leave, they brought in 3/4 of their workers with them from out of state anyhow."

And while doing so they cut funding to schools, trasportation, etc.

At least if people are required to present a form of official identification, you will limit anyone being capable of pretending to be someone else (of which inquiring off is not permitted).

Great! Just get them the *** ID without jumping through 8,000 hoops and paying a ton of fees, especially if they're poor, disabled, or old!

Hey go get a drivers license or non-license ID. They already exist and they're pretty cheap.
I just wonder how getting an ID eliminates voter fraud. Can't make fake IDs?

If we're so concerned with voter fraud why don't we set up a system that hands out identification for free when you register to vote? Work the system into place that way.
Could have a system where it scans your ID code and prevents you from voting in a different location or on another day.

I would be surprised if all of these voting machines aren't connected to a database where it updates every few minutes and ties the ID of a person to the vote. It would be an audit nightmare if it didn't do that at all.
Even if you did that you'd still need to have updated records. the system can update but you still rely on people to update the system in the first place so that it gets the records right in the first place. That's what your article seemed to address that there was a fundamental problem with record keeping.

I don't mind taking on the issue of voter fraud but the way it has been approached to date is anything but honest.

I would like to trust that records are generally updated, but in reality, there are internal controls in place in the federal/state government that are not being followed....

Why require driver's licenses to drive, people can just make fake ID right?
They do. Go visit a college campus sometime. The difference between having a photo id to check in and a cop stopping you for a traffic violation is that the police officer has access to a database that can run your drivers license. In order for licenses to do what you want them to do you'd have to have up to date records across the board on voter registration up to date by the minute and then at each voting booth you would have to have everyone pull out an id that is verifiable by state record that they could run a check on a computer at the voting poll. Among other things you'd have to extend voting time and eliminate any voting by mail so no one out of state could vote by mail like they have before.

Thing is Nausi you've put no thought into this other than to parrot the Republican talking points. Voter Fraud is everywhere and its all democrats! Proof??? you want proof? Psshhhh if you don't believe me you're just a dumbcrat!
