At least if people are required to present a form of official identification, you will limit anyone being capable of pretending to be someone else (of which inquiring off is not permitted).

Great! Just get them the *** ID without jumping through 8,000 hoops and paying a ton of fees, especially if they're poor, disabled, or old!

You feels I'm feeling them !

Hey go get a drivers license or non-license ID. They already exist and they're pretty cheap.

Paperwork not keeping up with dead people isn't anything new though and doesn't necessarily mean fraud. It does often include their offspring collecting checks for social security on dead relatives though.
I didn't say that. Just having those records open helps create the fraud.

You cannot have fraud unless you have an opportunity to commit it.

I just wonder how getting an ID eliminates voter fraud. Can't make fake IDs?

If we're so concerned with voter fraud why don't we set up a system that hands out identification for free when you register to vote? Work the system into place that way.

Read the article, read parts of the summary (I don't have time to read that whole damn thing right now), and even the language in the budget is wrong. I didn't get into the numbers themselves.

But that's not a budget, that's a GOP social-stance manifesto with money factored in.

It flat-out states that jobs are available, people just don't want to work, which is...hogwash. That may be true of some people, but there are plenty of good workers out there looking for honest work and not finding it.

Because that won't achieve they're desired result. Besides, that sounds like a handout. Just giving them a vote?

Why, we should go back to no blacks, no women, and having to own property to vote.

There would clearly be more votes by reasonable people who aren't just voting with feels.

Could have a system where it scans your ID code and prevents you from voting in a different location or on another day.

I would be surprised if all of these voting machines aren't connected to a database where it updates every few minutes and ties the ID of a person to the vote. It would be an audit nightmare if it didn't do that at all.

Why require driver's licenses to drive, people can just make fake ID right?

I like the idea of biometric tagging for voting.

It goes hand-in-hand with just DNA tagging everyone at birth.

Makes things so much easier on everyone.

Except no one cares about making voting better. Except you all. Suckers.

The whole thing was political. Mainly about securing votes and disenfranchising the 'other'. While keeping Americans divided using the old time tested methods of pumping fear and ill sentiment about people you've never met.

Yeah, you didn't read the budget. I read the President's budget and the only issue I had with it is that it was projecting economic growth at 7% and greater without saying (other than tax and spend) on how the economy will grow that high. In other words, it was an unrealistic budget.

But to you, Ryan's budget is a GOP manifesto but you cannot get into any specifics. Just like what CNN said. You cannot give specifics because you cannot substantiate it.

I can't give in-depth specifics because I don't have hours on end to read that thing.

I'm not saying his budget wouldn't work fiscally.

I'm saying it's a budget that just favors all of the GOP's supporters and hurts lower-income Americans.

Also, it appears he's saying that so much of things will be "left up to the states", which is basically saying, "we're not going to raise your taxes, but we'll sure as ***open the door for you state to do so instead."

Bolded: Lower taxes on corporations? Cut aid for those in need? Increase military spending? Sounds an awful lot like standard Republican stuff to me.

A direct democracy (elected by popular vote) with no ID checks?

Is that what I'm hearing?

How does requiring an ID "suppress" the vote? Does requiring a passport "suppress" international travel?

Sounds beautiful. Everyone's internet and TV will switch over to CSPAN, your doors will automatically lock and you'll be prompted to vote on everything from how much money we need to spend on turning poop into energy right down to the ever fun tax code.

Dial 85577 if you think we should gut regulation!
Dial 88566 if you think we should increase military spending!

Throw in some women dancing and a handsome foreign European dude to stimulate voting. Anyone who doesn't gets toxic gas pumped into their home. Government agents will be over to dispose of the bodies. I hear McDonalds buys filler cheap.
