I'm not a coffee person. I drink tea.
Depends. I prefer tea most of the time, but most places don't make anything but low-end teabag tea, if they make it at all. I drink tea at home, but I drink coffee on the go. Work is sort of split 50/50, because some days I just need the kick of coffee, but it's awful, so I keep tea at my desk and make it unless I need said coffee kick. I actually prefer cold tea, especially in the morning.

Who would've thought that a guy who was a Dead Head and named one of their most popular ice cream flavors after the lead singer of The Grateful Dead would have been a hippie?
This reminds me of a joke, being a Parrothead myself.
Q: What's the difference between Dead Heads and Parrotheads?
A: Parrotheads have jobs.

When it comes to morning energy I prefer slamming down a Red Bull or similar energy drink, except I don't drink them on most occasions because they're just terrible.
The only time I drink them is when I'm driving long distances because that caffeine hit is needed badly.

How does eliminating the absolutely asinine electoral college/votes system hurt representative government again?
The electoral college system naturally gives individual states more leverage in the national stage. The same way Wyoming having 2 senators like California does.
United STATES of America.
The electoral college allows for gerrymandering and generally turns voting into a big damned mess. Also, allows those who lose the popular vote to win elections (see: 2000). Getting rid of the electoral college allows every vote to count.
How does it allow for "gerrymandering"?
I would disagree that it's a big mess. It certainly does allow for candidates to be capable of loosing the popular vote and still winning the election. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, especially when dead people and illegal aliens vote and vote often.Got some proff to back that claim up? No? that's what I thought. Can't show ***to the blind. That's because that's not proof. All that article shows is that voter fraud can be pulled off. For awhile now it's been known that there is some voter fraud but its at a level so low that it was negligible.
Not to mention that electoral votes wouldn't eliminate the potential dangers of voter fraud. Electoral votes usally always side with the popular vote so if voter fraud is pervasive it will still net them the votes that they are looking for.

Ben and Jerry's too. Too much hippie *** for an ice cream company.
Hippies making a mint selling premium ice cream. Kind of an oxymoron.
***'s delicious though. Workers get free pints too! Yay. Can I work there now?

Even if only 20% of the population votes, it would take every single citizen in Wyoming to have the same level of voting power to vote than one section of New York City.
And you think that's fair?
...you're asking me if I think it's fair that people who neglect to vote lose out on representation?
Of course that's fair. That's the very point of voting. Expressing your will. If you don't vote in a 1:1 system, that's your own damn fault. If you don't vote in an electoral college system, who can blame you, because your vote doesn't matter in most states where the electoral votes are nearly assuredly going to go against you anyhow. So, instead, let's have 2 regions of the nation decide your vote instead of whatever state you live in? Considering that most presidents get elected on the popular vote already your argument doesn't make a lot of sense. Not everyone from New York votes democrat. Not everyone from Texas Votes Republican.
Those states already get weighted higher because of their greater number of electoral votes. CA has 18 times more voting power than Nevada in the electoral system. Is that fair? If your concern is each state be equally represented why not just give each state one electoral vote?
With the electoral college the way votes have more to do with focusing elections on swing states and winning over and all the rest just vote the way they always do.
In any case I personally think the only thing that would change are the venues that presidential campaigns would focus on. Because now we are going to a different argument.
If I were to push my agenda in changing to a new voting system, I would change it to a state-only voting system where that there are a total of 51 votes in the election, and each state (plus DC) gets exactly 1 vote, and that vote is determined by the popular vote in that state.
Since the majority of states are red in general elections, as show by this map:
My voting system will nearly guarantee a Republican controlled government for a very long while.
However, that still wouldn't be a fair method of signifying a representative government, because population factors will be removed completely. I would never advocate a system where only one factor is taken into consideration in a complex matter such as our government.
Electoral college system is our best solution in a true representative government. It allows citizens in lower population states have a voice while also allowing population factors and populist vote to have their own voice. Those citizens in smaller population states still have a voice even without the elctoral college system and they're still represented at a lower rate than other states.
Is a governors race unfair on a state level?

Energy drinks are the worst. Tons of sugars and artificial ***, make you more prone to a huge crash and cost the same as tea/coffee.

According to the article, fraud is so easy that's it's essentially "undetectable", as in someone pointing out that it isn't ever cited is meaningless as it goes on undetected all the time.
If we have a nationally popular vote, all the perpetrators of voter fraud need to do, is to set up shop in a very small handful of large cities and just pump out the fraud. Instead of today where contested states are the "battleground" and there is at least some degree of awareness.

I don't think it's wrong, personally.
But I also think it is wrong to expect them to pay for an ID or the required paperwork to obtain the ID. It makes being old and poor basically criteria to be unable to vote, which is supposed to be a right of all citizens.

How is making someone show their ID to vote wrong again?
Because the underlying motive has nothing to do with ID. And voter fraud is damn near unheard of. You can't even get people to show up for local races if you begged them!

If you can't afford the few dollars it costs to get a non driver's license ID, then you have bigger problems to worry about than voting.

How is making someone show their ID to vote wrong again?
A lot of the black voters in certain areas are disadvantaged. Requiring say a driver's license to vote will keep people without cars from voting for example. There's many ways to make it target certain groups once you start requiring it, that doesn't even cover things like the reading tests they used to give where the people giving the test themselves were racist and then claiming black people who had PHD's couldn't read just because they were black and thus ineligible to vote, and yes I've heard that happened. I'd be for testing if fairly given. But people already in the majority don't vote, and it would be a barrier to entry and even IQ tests can favor your culture and upbringing based on the questions given.
Tell me again how it is tough to get a form of ID ?
