Most of our "mentally ill" end up in jail to receive treatment.
I'm no psychologist but I don't think going to jail is the best place to receive mental health care. fonewear said: » Most of our "mentally ill" end up in jail to receive treatment. I'm no psychologist but I don't think going to jail is the best place to receive mental health care. A lot of poor people with mental illnesses end up on drugs and subsequently get written off as druggies, despite the fact that the drugs didn't cause their psychological issues and it's frequently the other way around. And the way we happily throw people into jail for multiple minor drug offenses certainly leads to what Fone describes here. Though I don't advocate putting them in prison, a lot of these people actually do benefit to some degree there because they get meds regularly and are given a structured environment. Then their time is up and they're thrown back into the streets, into poverty, now with a criminal record and their already-slim chances of obtaining and maintaining employment are shot even further to hell. So it's back to the same old lifestyle until they get thrown in there again. Edit: So, no. While not "all" or "most", but a good number of the poor mentally ill do end up in prison. What rock have you been living under? what metric are you using to determine obama is in any way, shape or form a better president than either bush? (since you didn't specify) what rock have you been living under the last five and half years? I believe the common folk refer to it as a mountain. 1 pebble high. Considering the Bush family and what they do, I'd take Nik as being a better leader.

I'd take him over Reagan too.
or Daddy Bush or Clinton.
Just vote Seth Rogan for President.

But... if we're looking only at the bad apples for presidency, all the people are going to get is one funky smelling apple pie, no matter what the people mix into the filling. Crusty old, out of touch senators and congresspersons that leave your mouth dry (from going "WTF" all the time) to the mushy distasteful inner circles, no matter how cinnamon sugary their words are. Sorry Nik. My vote's already accounted for.

Man did I adore those games. Recently found them in a Windows 7-friendly format for $3 a pop. Nostalgia city. People, this isn't a video game thread. Stop posting things about games!
Uh oh, Teach is laying down the law!
Detention for you!
