Spoken like someone who hasn't taken two seconds to look at the stories of overworked professors, people in dead end retail, the subhuman standards of restaurants, the unsafe working conditions in places like Amazon warehouses and ON and ON and ON.
But yeah, none of these people are working lol. Look, I just rather some of these Conservative voices to just say "*** you, I got mine" and be done with it.
At least you'd be honest instead of the disingenuous tripe. Offline

You guys want to use a service for free. No service is free.
That is the impasse that you refuse to acknowledge! What are taxes?
A miserable pile of partisan gridlock. But enough of this, have at thee! I'm still salty I was a year off being able to get financial aid for grad school. THANKS OBAMA.

That's officer to you. 5 years of honorable service in Dragon's Aery keeping the botters and dupers overseas so you could run around in Valkurm Dunes on Memorial Day. If Colonel Sanders could call himself a colonel, why can't I call myself a Captain? I got that Assault rank fair and square.
Can we bootstrap any harder today?
Like, why can't poor people just have more money?

Could we whine about the world not being fair some more?

People aren't equal, and never will be. they should however, be provided equal opportunity. are we doing that? I don't know.

I don't like people pirating ***or wanting certain entertainment for free like they just expect it to be that way since they can't afford it... It's ridiculous to me... Though as a nation we should be able to feed and shelter everyone... I'm not saying 5 star meals and everyone gets a home but we should not have people starving or dying on the streets of our nation... We should take care of our own. Offline

EBT is easily available. It is not free that money comes from somewhere. Lakshmi.Flavin said: » Some services are free Nothing is free. Edit. Fixed since people refuse to think. Offline

It isn't free to use though.. You are paying for access to it somehow. Phone bill. Internet bill. Electricity bill.
Altimaomega said: » It isn't free to use though.. You are paying for access to it somehow. Facebook? Not necessarily. The internet itself is the most obvious barrier, but libraries have publicly available internet. So, someone who didn't pay taxes (no income, tourist, whatever) using one of those would be getting it completely for free. [Edit: also, mark edits if you're going to make them. Seeing extra ***show up in a post after people have replied is really annoying, and you do that ***all the time. Write it out correctly the first time, for ***'s sake.] Siren.Mosin said: » People aren't equal, and never will be. they should however, be provided equal opportunity. are we doing that? I don't know. It's a resounding no on equal opportunity. Being born in a shitty neighborhood and having to attend an underfunded public school is already a huge minus before you can think for yourself. Parents also qualify. As does your ability to access extracurricular activities which are fundamental to developing hobbies that could become marketable talents. It'd be a hard argument to make that future generations are going to be better off than the last two. Offline

They get to use Facebook for free mooching off the taxpayers that fund the library. The First few times. Every library I know of requires you to get a library card to use the computers. Costs 2-3 bucks for the card. Library is free here. Damned taxpayers being forced to fund educational opportunity for all. THIEVING government.

In some places a photo ID will suffice, and thanks to the waste of time that voter-ID laws are, in some places you can get those for free (they should be anyway if they're a requirement to vote). Keep clawing. Offline

Looks around for the post that said libraries should not be funded.. Yup, none.. What's the difference between libraries being funded by taxpayer dollars and college education? In both cases the rich are paying for the poor right? If you want books or internet buy them yourself. Stop looking to the government for copies of the latest hentai. |
