It's almost like Americas global trade network is a means of not only facilitating good relations with foreign powers but also maintaining economic diplomacy with nations as a means of power projection and a means of shedding cost overseas to benefit consumers at home!
I mean, it's not like nations wouldn't take being economically cut off as an insult or anything, worsening diplomacy and ultimately resulting in negative impact both as unipolar superpower and our efforts against islamic fundies overseas!

while it's potentially true that we have enough resources to produce everything we need how do you think it would effect our own market if we completely pulled out of every other one? I'm not the one with the problem of not understanding anything that only happens around me. You need to think bigger than just pulling out of markets overseas.
Also, uncertainties in the markets would go away when America is producing its own things again! No control of overseas production is why uncertainties even exist!

Ah, I see. So it is okay to pay people overseas less but here in America we need to have a 15 dollar minimum wage, and when people flat out don't have a job because people overseas are doing it for less money, it is perfectly Okay to have the working class and rich pay for them. Because Those greedy corporations sent all the jobs overseas to profit off the backs of slave labor!

Also, just for arguments sake. Lets say that with lower taxes, fewer regulations and production back in the States the cost of everything does not get more expensive and more people have jobs and our economy booms. You want to present an actual argument why that wouldn't happen other than blatant hypocrisy?

If we really wanted to, we could wipe out hundreds of thousands of jobs *right now*. Think of how many customer service, fast food and low tier entry-level jobs could be eliminated through mechanization. Do you really need someone in a cell phone store to aid you paying a bill?
Once we're all accustomed to using smartphones and the boomers embrace the reaper those jobs could be safely eliminated. Check your own groceries out while you're at it. Lazy bum.
Then think of how many middle tier, management jobs could also be gutted and that's the future. But lets keep talking about bringing back ineffectual manufacturing in the vein of the 30s-50s. I think we kinda like having all the pollution in China so we can die of heart disease instead of drinking contaminated water. Oh wait...
