It's kinda funny that people think anything from New York is good. Like Yankees sports women etc.

The entire culture of New York is so self involved it probably would disappear up it's on butt !

Last year was the earth's hottest in 136 years of record-keeping,

Interesting, considering it was one of the coldest winters the USA has had in a very long time. Which is saying something because the year before that was also extremely cold.

The rest of the world MUST be on fire.

I have to agree with Altima, in my area of NY (Central New York) we recorded the coldest February on record with the entire month never getting above 0F. Our summer last year also sucked it was cold and wet and we only broke 90F one time. My birthday is April 18th and we had a snowstorm 2 days before it. I do not know where in the world it is baking but it is for sure not Northeast.
What was it like this last December? Which, as I am sure you realize, is part of last year.

I hate to burst your bubble Alti but the NYDN is republican through and through.
Except for the owner and editor in chief.. Mortimer Zuckerman.. Longtime Democrat and huge Obama supporter..

I'm sure his opinions are very conservative republican though.
And a smart enough busnessman to not change the paper's busness model or slant.

Tell ISIS, Loki's army, the Independence Day aliens, the Cloverfield monster, Gojira and global warming that.

I'd love if they'd stop trying to blow up my transportation network and attack the ever living ***out of the upper peninsula of Michigan, Texas, Alaska or Louisiana. Wait, scratch Louisiana, they've suffered enough.

NY Daily News is practically begging liberals to give them money at this point. It will probably work too. Liberals are the low hanging fruit of society, the easiest crowd to distract and amuse. It's called job security in the entertainment business.

So you're talking about a previous winter instead of the current one?

I was commenting on the article talking about last years winter. I know staying on topic is an extremely hard concept for you.

Maybe where you were but last winter in the Pacific NW was warm and almost snowless. The ski resorts gave season ticket holders from winter '14 - '15 season tickets for '15 - '16.

And in Australia they had record heat waves.

Not to mention the east coast's December '15.

Hint: What you see out your window is weather. Not climate.

The extreme colds you're seeing are the result of cold, arctic air currents shifting more south than what you're used to (due to changes in temperature/pressure growing more significant). The same goes with the record heat waves; warmer equatorial air currents shifting south, in Australia's case, giving them consistently hotter temperatures.

I'm quite well aware of this, especially living in Michigan for 33 years. Believe me when I say you never get used to it and it happens all of the time. There is nothing significant about it, other than they are saying El-nino is super strong this year.

It's a handy tool for determining when someone is just bitching about a group they don't like and have nothing of substance to say. Also pretty handy for spotting hate speech.

Liberals are absolutely the low hanging fruit when it comes to entertainment, comedy and fake outrage. I present as evidence all of Hollywood, late night comedy, SNL, Daily Show, the filth that is the New York Daily News. I won't even go into the media driven stories that had liberals burning down cities in the last couple years.

Squirrel!

So, Trump and Palin were here in Tulsa Tusla today and despite practically every GOP politician's pro-gun stance, allegedly, a police officer in uniform who stopped in by the rally today was given the choice of surrendering his sidearm or leaving. He was escorted out when he refused to surrender his department issued sidearm.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Clarification; he was a police chief from another nearby town. [Source]

He was outside of his jurisdiction and he wasn't on the list of people authorized to carry a weapon inside the rally perimeter, pretty cut and dry, the Secret Service doesn't kid around with that stuff.

Yeah, I know. But I also know crazy people shouldn't have guns and there are no special snowflakes when it comes to background checks when buying from licensed dealers. Anyone who *** about gun control should be bitching about this.

...and I say this as a bit of a gun fanatic.

Background checks aren't new either but for some reason people are raising hell about them being required at gun shows now.
