One of the oldest plug-ins is finally reaching its demise it seems.

I personally don't mind SE picking up windower plugins. Not only is it basically a silent nod towards what the windower developers have done over the years, but it also means these plugins will never permanently break. Also, anyone who has always been against using windower can now enjoy some of most influential and popular plugins without breaking any rules.

Other examples of this over the years include:

Blinkmenot = <stal> <stpt>
CFHProtect = /blockhelp
TParty = in development no longer
LightLuggage = Auto-Stack feature, but not fully replaced. I think it's now called Treasury, I'm not in the loop for XI stuff anymore.
Precognition = Added new status ID dat's to show the number of shadows left.
Recast = Added timers for macros

Updated the UI for NPC/PC names, like XI view
Updated status icons to be more HD, like XI view

I'm sure I forgot a few, it's been a long time since I played.

until square allows multiple instances of POL/FFXI windower will most likely never be fully replaced. If this addition is like all the others its will ok but not as good as the original. And for ppl being offended by a quote from literature I would suggest to get some sensidyne to ease the pain of sensitivity.

ot, what's to say that se's version will be equal or replace the plugin? it may only work for party members or be hard to see. the plugin won't necessarily die if the vanilla version is less accessible or gives less info.

Well the post says party and alliance so should cover that. As for if its hard to see that's still unknown for now.
