I'm pretty sure most people have figured out how to do this event but for those who haven't, I have almost a fail-proof method of winning this. It won't take long with this way, but it might cost a little gil depending on your server:

Main-hand: Maple Wand
Ring 1(optional but recommended): Hermit Ring*
Ring 2(Same as above): Hermit Ring*

*Due to this event, you probably won't find them on the AH. BUT! They can be farmed in Dangruf Wadi very easily... they drop off the Stone Eaters with an 11% drop rate... it took me maybe... 5 worms per ring.

Here is what matters:
Fruit Parfait(NQ): Int +3 MP 5%? MAB +6
Queen's Crown: STR -2 INT +4 MND +3 CHR +2 MP 6%? MAB +7
HQ obviously recommended.

*Job: Without exception, you need to be BLM/WHM- need water/cure.

1st phase: Try and balance out your damage. (DO NOT USE FOOD RIGHT OFF THE BAT OR IT'LL BE MUCH HARDER TO DO SO ^^;) My stones did about 20 dmg cure for 17 and I would try and get my club dmg to be 15~20. This generally was enough for the 100% buff, if I got the 50% I would just go to the moogle/goblin and end the battle.

2nd Phase - Last phase: Spam nukes after getting the 100% buff. 1st phase I would use water, then to let my mp come back, on the 2nd phase I would use stone. Alternating the dmg wont cost you a whole lot but if you feel you just NEED to spam water on all rounds, get coalition ethers for a free 200? mp back and continue spamming.

With my method I was averaging between 4k-5k.

Screenshot of one round I did: http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq161/teayah_photos/pol2014-05-2003-32-04-28.png

Good Luck :)

You got the goblin sachet, but did you get the moogle one? After completing expert mode on both sides and receiving the last sachet, there will be a short delay, then you should get a CS - at the end of the CS, you'll get Aldo's cipher.

*Edit: Do you have inventory space to receive the items?

Make sure you do a 3k run after you get all the 10k points collected. A 3k point run that was got while still collecting the 10k for the moogle/gob trust wont count for expert mode.

Yeah, you have to clear the 10k participation mode first, and then 3k on expert mode. Getting 3k points while you're still on participation mode doesn't count toward getting Aldo.

The event is p*ss easy.

I went in, cast water, and 2 cures, hit the mob a few times, then spammed water after getting the twin bonus. Got something like 5000 points.

Just got 9112 points in one fight doing this on the gob side, and about 3700~ when I was doing the moogle side per fight.

On BLM/whm I got over 3k easily on moogle done. Water for 28 and 2x cures @ 14 hp each. But switching to goblin my water does 30 dmg and stone does 16. Cures still @14 each. Any reason my water damage changed? I can't match them up to get the bonus.

I don't think it's the game day, I think it's the resistances of the mobs. Moogles seem to take less magic damage overall, probably from -MDT.

I scored 8355 on my mule going after the goodie bags.
BLM/WHM, no special gear. used chocobo wand for melee. got hard cookie from FoV book.
cure for 14, 3 times (42)
water for 43
Swung club til the first evaluation, got close enough bonus(+100%) and (a very lucky) twin bonus(+200%) on melee/magic damage.
For rounds 2-5, I alternated between water (170ish damage) & stone (120ish damage).

I've used the same strat over and over and the only time it really didn't work was on darksday, when my cures would sometimes only heal for 12 instead of 14. This is to both sides. Besides, he said it was on the goblin, if that were the case his waters wouldn't be doing more than 28.

He's a THF, uses Bully and SA and is a pretty good DD as Trusts go. Might have TH (probably TH1?), I'm not sure though. Gets some sort of bonus if used with Zeid and/or Lion. From BG threads, seems to be related to DW speed, and seems broken (in a powerful way) if used at low level, under level 20.

The bad: he has an AoE weaponskill, which could be a deal breaker for some. All in all, seems better to just use Nanaa for TH, and a non-AoE DD like Zeid or Prishe if you want damage.

Moogle is the biggest win to me from these event Trusts. Refresh and increased magic skillup rate? Sign me up!

Just got Aldo on RDM on a mule with no subjob. (because hard mode, of course)

With no INT bonuses, cure and stone were both 16, but with Windurstian ring (+1 INT), stone was 18, and I can't Dia to fix that, so first round had to be done with ring off, and INT food was a no-no. With 300% bonus I was doing Stone for 90 (rarely 45 or 95), and Earthsday probably helped, too.

I started with Wax Sword +1, but it was hitting for a bit too much, so I backed off for NQ Wax Sword. In any case, it was very hard to get exactly 16 physical damage, especially when I got a crit. My first expert run I got lucky with 16/16/16 and ended up over 5K. My final run I missed on physical, so got only 200% bonus, but I popped Chainspell to give me enough to go over the line at 3259.

You're not going to set any records without a subjob, but it can be done.

EDIT: That was on my tarutaru mule. I did it again on my elvaan mule. First of all, needed hard cookie to raise INT, and two +1 INT rings. Biggest problem was Cure for 17, Stone for 14/16/18, and Dia for 2. Had to add in a +1 MND ring for the math to work out. Getting a 300% is really hard because melee damage isn't as consistent as magic.

Because the ring situation was more complex, I made macros for Cure and Stone, and even with 200%, getting 3K was no problem, once I got tuned properly for the first round.

If you completed it and watched the CS for getting Aldo's Cypher, you know the answer for that question.
