Sadly, it won't let me connect through POL, just making sure it isn't me!

Are the servers back up?
Sadly, it won't let me connect through POL, just making sure it isn't me!

It's not just you. I wish they had let us know, I usually wait on POL during update.
The worst part is they never update server status on the FFXI main page anymore Yeah, very odd. On the POL website it claims the maintenance is over. D:
pol.com showed the servers up during the maintenance, but no, they appear to be having congestion issues either with the login or update servers.
Yea I can not get on POL either =(
If I go to playonline.com i just see the maintenance splash. Same with the link in OP.
You can update to the current version via Check Files>FFXI>(File Check)> Repair Files. The option is present before logging into PoL on the left side, 4th or 5th option from the top.
This bypasses PoL to version check and update. PoL seems to be down though. Offline

We still have an hour and ten minutes of maintenance left. they said they would be doing hardware maintenance first then the update. looks like they almost done.

On the screen where you hit check you have to click where it says Playonline - it'll give you the options for FFXI or Tetra Master in a drop down, select FFXI and it'll run that check and you should get the repair file option. I couldn't figure this out either, til my husband showed me...derp! :Q Offline

Ahh, very cool thanks.
I checked files about 5 times and It didn't give me an option to repair because it didn't find anything wrong.
So I decided to delete 1 dat file(C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\0\0.dat) and tried again and it worked. It detected 1 file wrong so it downloaded new update and is now now downloading 1930 files. I don't have xi-style or anything installed like that so that's probably why it didn't detect anything wrong on first tries. So if anyone else is having problems of it coming up try that. If the 0.dat doesn't show back up in its folder I'll just move it out of recycle bin. come on already.... bordem kills lol
Glad I'm not the only one having trouble then. Keep getting POL Error 0206.

lol
Perhaps them saying "15:30 PST" wasn't clear enough... You know schools these days, we'd be lucky if they could read an analog clock, let alone a military clock.
getting same error also 0206, fun times, time to socialize outside of the game :( lol
Have some patience. If their hardware staffing is anything like their Customer Support Staff for XI, then the poor guy maintaining the servers needs to sort out the mailroom, clean the bathroom, make the coffee for the office, push out the software update and THEN do the hardware upgrade...then push out the software patch to fix the update because he divided by zero.
Its not even due for like another 45 minutes just chill your beans (And expect it tomorrow instead)

It's all a conspiracy to drive the US populous insane by going backwards and forwards an hour. Leviathan.Josiahfk said: » Shiva.Rucks said: » Perhaps them saying "15:30 PST" wasn't clear enough... You can also see it on playonline.com, under the news section, where they always post maintenance details. |
