Final Fantasy Type-0 Fan Translation Project
You have to forgive Seha, she doesn't have tolerance for those with poor frontal lobe development.
As i have no tolerance for smug elitist forum hounds who draw assumptions and design less than realistic understandings of people based on their inability to truly be mentionable never mind elite.

wat.jpg Ok, guys. Try to get back on topic. >.>
Somebody had their Wheaties this morning!
Edit: Ruh Roh, Ladydude mod, RUN! Suppose the following scenario:
I want Terranigma, a game that was created nearly 20 years ago by a studio that no longer exists. It's not really clear who if anyone owns the intellectual property, which is more accurately stated as who earns the right to profit off of it, but whoever it is, they have not established any means of either identifying themselves as the property owner or collecting money from potential customers who wish to purchase an end-user license agreement. Now, I can go to eBay and give some random guy money for a configuration of silicon, PCB and plastic, but I didn't really get what I wanted which was the EULA, and I still have no legal right to the software copy I just bought, nor did the developers get a single dime from the transaction. I'm sure you would stop here (and you'd be legally wrong to do so), but your morals would make you feel justified, I'm assuming? You may well have placed the money into a box, dug a hole in the ground, buried the box in it and erected a sign over it stating, "I am a better person than you," leaving behind nothing but a monument that commemorates your utter lack of critical thinking and reasoning. Simply downloading the 4MB file isn't "right", by any means, but right and wrong are just words; you can't let them rule your life. When there's no alternative, how has what you've done really hurt anyone? Arguably your behavior on this forum is far more destructive than the philosophy you're preaching, so of the two of us, I'd consider your holier-than-thou attitude to be the greater of two evils, if we're to so narrowly view things as only good or bad, white or black. You can't just "aside" the case at hand either. These are all case-by-case where the only person who will end up being wrong is the person who tries to generalize any behavior to one single rule. Piracy helps promote the product. If the product has an online service that can only be accessed with a legitimate copy of the product, and the user downloads an illegal copy of the product to see what the whole fuss is about before deciding to put down money on it, they might decide it's worth it and pay up for it.
If the product however is inferior, and is simply a cash grab, that user just saved money. “Piracy is not theft,” he said. “If you steal a car, the original is lost. If you copy a game, there are simply more of them in the world. There is no such thing as a ‘lost sale’. Is a bad review a lost sale? What about a missed ship date?” - Notch, creator of Minecraft also relevant: ![]() Also, developer of Terraria and Starbound: ![]() Some people are simply nervous about dropping 60 dollars on a title they might not enjoy in the end. You could argue that it's a gamble and if you don't do your homework before purchasing it's your fault, but it shouldn't be that way. Too many developers get away with releasing a bad product for too much money. Piracy, in gaming, helps create a safety net in case a game is actually bad. If it's good and you wish to enjoy the online features of a game then buy the game, because you know you'll enjoy it. In this specific case, SE never released the game outside of Japan. We simply cannot purchase the product we wish to buy, most likely because SE wouldn't make back their investment. Fans went out of their way to translate the game, and SE has not stopped them. They obviously know about the project, and they are giving the silent go ahead because it saves them money, and fans get to finally enjoy the game they've been waiting for. SE doesn't see a penny from these downloads, but they also don't have to deal with a loss either which they would have risked if they did it, maybe. Kali, I love you like a sister.
Also: I may get this game, I'll try to remember when it's done, I'll actually have something to put on my PSP after I hacked it. I'll have to figure out where I put my microsd to memory stick pro duo adapter (which by the way are a violation of Sony's patent as well, going to yell at me for buying/using that?) and possibly get another microsd card to add. Been following this for quite some time now and am happy to see that a release day is established. SE should have ported this game to the vita or as a psn title to make some money off of it but to everyones displeasure they didn't. I just add this to one of many dumb moves by SE.
You wouldn't believe it but SE's very statement was "Final Fantasy doesn't sell much outside of Japan". My mind was blown.
Capcom gives the same sort of reasoning about Monster Hunter, which is entirely not true... Like they didn't release freedom 3 in the west, waited a year, then I just got it... by other means... with an English patch. But then they released 3 ultimate and I gladly handed them my money for that.

Glad to see this is happening, take that SE. Stupid business decisions for the last 10 years has resulted in fans taking things upon themselves to deliver good games.

Probably more about it's market share as compared to other types of games, in comparison to say CoD, FF titles really don't sell well. They haven't released a blockbuster Final Fantasy in over 10 years. Its been forever and SE never released this game for NA/EU so I call it fair game
Also why is someone giving us morals value about pirating? On a thread that no would not care about that....? also lol @ caring for a multi-billion dollar company You know what I find weird? Most of the game's translation was finished but SE decided to pull the plug. I see no reasoning behind that. They could've made it a PSN download with JP voices if they were worried about costs.
