I think/assume that most of the people in this thread that are trying to argue a very valid point are referring to tanking much harder things that take a lot more time/practice/skill/gear than just hitting a sentinal/voke/rampart macro. And even saying that I have seen more than my fair share of people who cant even figure that out. i.e. not saving sentinal for mnk mobs or rampart for rdm or blm. So ya its not that hard. But you still gotta know how to do it.

If pld is just your back up just get AF and Ally note gear and dear god don't go lotting vs Main PLDs I hate people who do that "I have 10 lvl 75s but never touch them...but I need gear for my mannequin" =/

I play this game to have fun. The entire reason i took the time to level PLD research the job and learn to do it right is because its no fun to constantly lose events because you have a horrific tank. It has nothing to do with taking it too seriously. It has everything to do with not wanting to waste my time. If i didnt care at all why even play. I could think of a few hundered other things i could do with my time. I choose to do this so may as well do it right.

Once you get it set up, you can focus on playing the game instead of constant gearswaps.

I just downloaded spellcast this morn Only the link I used for the PLD xml. There is user submitted XML for all of the jobs here: http://wiki.windower.net/plugins/spellcast/userxmlI really don't know anything about xml at all. What I did was to pick a file i liked, then where it said "tp" for example, i just plugged in my tp gear where his tp gear used to be, for "ws," i plugged in my weaponskill gear, and so on and so forth. When you install the plugin in windower, it automatically creates a new folder inside your plugins folder, called spellcast. that's where you put the xml file after you replace their gear with your gear. You can edit the xml files in notepad.

If you feel that I fail for doing everything I can to be the best paladin I can be, you are welcome to your opinion. A funny sidenote, i actually learned about spellcast by reading a thread QQing about how everyone using it was scum. So if you want to expose more people to the existence of spellcast, by all means please keep bumping the thread to the top by complaining about it! XD

so it went from PLD gear to SMN burn lol
imo smn burn is no difference than leveling thru campaign battle, only faster. I got 2 friends that got 4-5 jobs to 75 by doing campaign 24/7, and im sure they're not the only ones.
But no one complains about ppl leveling that way, even though their skills are no better than smn burned jobs.
on the other hand though, would you want a smn burned rdm 75 to take care of the sleeps in i.e dynamis?

Meh, exping is tedious enough. If you wanna rush it, be my guest. I couldn't fault you for it... it is by far the worst part of the game, especially the late 60s etc. Some jobs like PLD don't tend to get particularly good invites, especially 70+. Yeah, you'll be missing some skills you pick up from levelling but you now have a lot of time left over to learn them and then some :D PLD tanking in endgame is completely different to exp anyway unless you're /war for some reason. As long as you're a reasonably intelligent player, it's not gonna make you terrible in the long run.
