Fact of the matter is, regardless of whether it was IRL or online, something precious was taken away without the person's consent. The principle of that remains, whether it was a hacked account, or someone breaking into your house and taking your TV or whatever.

If I take my car in for an oil change and specify I want 4.5 quarts of Quaker State 10W-30 oil with the Fram oil filter made for my car and the mechanic doesn't do that then it's on him. Im rly glad that ive never had to deal with SE on any issue and when AION comes out ill delete my account and jump over there. The yrs spent playing this game, i couldnt imagine losing like that but i would surely quit if that happened.

See the problem is everyone complains but ur all still playing. SE is still making money so why should they care if ur gonna keep paying them to do it. Untill the complaints start costing them money nothing will change. They will learn when ff14 comes out cause whos gonna want to pay for the same bs, i know alot of ppl that wont, espically if u cant transfer anything over.
Yeah it's a double edged sword. We tolerate piss poor service just for the sake of being able to continue playing.
Yea.. I've been playin a little over 4 years now, if you recall a HUGE number of players had been hacked and had to use GDR (Inside job theory out there too). Anywho a month or so after I had use GDR, the same thing happens again. Now not only did they take all my sellables, but they dropped all the EX items that were on my Chary. I sent SE their noterized letter and what not to get my account back, I said I'm aware theres this BS rule you can only do 1 Game Data recovey, even after SE knows the accounts were hacked. So I said just give me my EX items back is all I ask. They say "We cannot you had to have called for a item restore within 7 days of the account being compromised. So its my fault SE took 3 months to get me my account back ? No... its niether my fault they're security system is so pathetic they allowed thousands of players to loose their stuff. Yes it is just a game, but also we pay Real life money to play it. And we spend hours on end doing so. And for some one like me to loose about everything I've earned over a 4 years time I find it very unfair too... now... the question is... what can we do about this?

I, myself, do not advise my friends looking for a MMO to join FF XI. Typical answer : why do you play then ? Well like most of people here, been playing for several years, once you made a MMO your "own place" you just don't want to leave it, even if the customer service shitty, even if released expansion starts to suck more and more, even if we get stupid update etc... "No sir, it's clearly not our problem, it's definitely your internet service provider haxing us"
