Personally I don't refer to western cartoons as "anime", only Japanese ones. It's just that technically, they're both anime (from their point of view).

For this thread though, I wouldn't really list non-Japanese characters.

technically Tom and Jerry would be anime for their point of view, and as none of us are native Japanese, it's rather a moot point.

I swear when I saw the title of this thread I thought "your favorite anime characters from 2014 anime"... That kind of can be interpreted in a liberal way but I suppose for most it means "what is your 10 favorite characters of all time, right now" ...

I have so many characters I like, it's hard to pick some to put on a list, really ... I just wanted to nitpick a bit (in a slightly humorous way) with the thread title ...

I wanted to make it as mind boggling as I could!

Seriously though, it is a "your favorite characters as of now". Apologies for the confusion.

I wanted to see who, out of every character you know, deserves a spotlight in very restricting circumstances. This way, I could see which Characters are truly special to people, and we can see which characters have made the biggest impact on the peoples of this forum.

I wanted to see which character appears the most frequent, and which character frequently appears as #1 on peoples lists. Unfortunately, peoples took it upon themselves to create lists that are in no apparent order (how dare they!!). It's unfortunate, but I suppose if I made that a rule it would've made things far too hard for many people.

In fairness, there really isn't a 'main character' on Bleach anymore. Just 100s of Minors...
