You have seen the original cartoon of sleeping beauty by disney? Magic has always been an integral part of the story. To the end when the two fairy godmothers keep zapping Aurora's dress between pink and blue.
Heck, magic has been an integral part of the Disney image for decades.

I know people at the age of 25 or 50 who still watch Disney movies, don't see what the age has to do with it.
Some of them are timeless classics for all ages.

My nephew used to scream when Tom was losing to Jerry, he knows how nature was supposed to work, even at the age of 6.
Didn't they just make a Snow White movie where the witch was the lead actress? Now they are doing it again with Sleeping Beauty, what's the big deal. Some of disney villains are just as big as their heroes, good on them for noticing it and making something different.
To be fair, I loved the *** uhherm, witch in Kingdom Hearts, but hey.

I'm so excited for this movie. I'm not a huge fan of classic Disney like Cinderella and s nowwhite..that includes sleeping beauty but at least sleeping beauty has a prince with almost a personality and the song Once Upon A Dream which I hum all the time irl. Glad Lana did a creepy cover of it.

that being said in THIS particular case even THAT misses the point. maleficent is a disney VILLAIN, and i'm sure she will be portrayed as a VILLAIN.
if anything it's going to teach little orel that black magic and witchcraft is BAD?
LESS than harmless. good influence. parents take your children to see it. it'll be just like the passion, except it's probably not trying to be a snuff film.

Damn, Lana Del Ray made that song sound dark and creepy.
Disney is a great company and has made a wonderful choice by casting Angelina Jolie for this role. No references were made to Satan or to eccentric Hollywood practices.

They did a really good job making her look like Maleficent from the original Disney's Sleeping Beauty cartoon.

what, surprisingly enough the past couple DISNEY (like Disney Disney, not pixar) have been good. Tangled is the best thing to have come out in a while and Frozen while not as great as Tangled is still like wtfgood
