Such a discrimination!

On a serious note I wouldn't even bother. I know Austar's sims are good and if he says that moonlight is ~1% ahead in some scenario, then he is probably right. Personally I wouldn't bother to keep moonlight anyway, because I have too much inventory problems to keep things like that.

How does Fusenaikyo fit into things? Was thinking about picking it up for acc or should I just make relic?

I've considered it as a Macro piece going C path. (swap it in for 2 WSs and back out)

But for crazy ACC just use Aeonic R15.

If accuracy isn't an issue, Kenda +1 or Kasuga +1 for body?

Any talk about SAM/DRG now that /DRG gets a 7 WSD boost on top of already have situational tp gain from jumps and not so situational hate control? Gonna lose berserk/last resort which would totally suck but if already at pdif wouldn't it be better?

Not much to test right? It’s 10% DA versus 7% WSD? And that 10% isn’t a full 10% because diminishing returns so I can’t see on the surface how /DRG isn’t the default choice when you have capped attack.

You’re right. It’s more because it’s multiplicative after gear and In the rare case of using Shoha counts on both hits.

thought it was already tested in drg form its just regular gear WSD and only applies to the 1st hit?

The first guy to post results states that but later corrected himself. Either he did the test wrong or didn’t take time to understand the results the first time.

My initial test was poorly conducted. The expected damage ranges had a ton of overlap.

It's very clear now that DRG trait WSD is both a seperate multiplier from gear and applies to all hits.

Until Square goes OH NOES, DRG IS USEFUL AGAIN?!?!?!
Then nerfs it back to first hits only, like the old WSD bug.

Thoughts on WS sets that maintain high PDT when you're afraid of getting a hammer to the skull during WSs? Cooked this up real quick, but curious on others' thoughts on what's worth sacrificing for PDT in WSs. This set has 45% PDT; currently debating swapping out Genmei Earring for Ishvara, though.

I'm on the way of mastering and gearing my Samurai, but i have yet to find a lua that feels comfortable to me. Also, i really like Arislan's luas for physical oriented jobs, but it seems like he didn't do one for SAM, as far i can tell, so i'll be using his DRG gearswap as a base and change it to fit SAM.
Before i spend time doing this... anyone did this already?
This is the lua i'm using as a base:

This has been bugging me for a while. Can someone enlighten me on why the above set is so popular for Masamune compared to a Kendatsuba set?
ItemSet 369846

Assuming Samurai Roll isn't in effect since it may change some slots, and (in Kasuga's favor) ignoring Acc/M.Eva, the difference between the two sets are:

Kasuga:
9% DA
17% Zanshin (~6% Zanhasso with max jp)
11% Zanshin OAT
78 STP (preserves 4-hit if no Overwhelm)

Kendatsuba:
15% TA
2% QA
52 STP (loses 4-hit if no Overwhelm)

It's also worth pointing out that your DA/TA/QA checks must first fail for your Zanshin to have a chance at proccing, and TA/QA > Zanhasso anyway while DA < Zanhasso, which the Kasuga set has 9% more of than the Kendatsuba set (not that a theoretical 100% DA rate would result in a DPS loss or anything; just saying). And I know people love ignoring white damage, but considering we're using an Empyrean, it's worth pointing out the effect an extra 15% TA and 2% QA will have on your auto-attack damage compared to 9% DA and 6% Zanhasso when you have a 50% chance of dealing triple damage. The additional STP on Kasuga affecting WS damage could be pointed out as well, but the large additional multi-attack on the Kendatsuba set is also offering additional TP for WSs (probably more?).
And let's also bring back in the M.Eva that I ignored on the Kendatsuba set. The large bonus to ailment resistance can in a way contribute to your DPS as well when you're avoiding Amnesias/Stuns/Paralyzes/Slows that you may be getting afflicted with while in Kasuga.

To be honest, even if I'm shown to be wrong or missing something, I'm going to continue using the Kendatsuba set solely due to the M.Eva. It has been very noticeable and probably my favorite part of using Kendatsuba for TP. I'm not trashing the Kasuga set as it's the same thing I used before Kendatsuba and Sakonji Domaru +3 were released, but I'm having trouble seeing a reason to continue using it now.

Sorry for the rant.

Answer plz. If this is the case, isn't it potentially OP when combined with Alexander body and other counter gear?

relic legs and koga both require TE to be up to make use of counter, but a SAM could hit around i think 80%ish counter just with seigan up, nothing "OP" about it given what you had to give up for it

The Hasso buff makes Zanshin proc even when you don't miss at a rate of 1/4 of your zanshin rate. With the gear in the set above and master sam, your zanshin rate would be 92% or 23% proc even when you don't miss. A zanshin proc also gets an additional 30 TP base per merit in Ikishoten, for a base per hit on masamune of 123 + 150 = 273 TP/hit. When you account for store TP, that's 616 TP/zanshin proc. If the zanshin DA activates, that's 1232 TP in a single round.

By comparison, the set you have posited only gets 246 TP on a regular hit, and 738 on a TA proc. It just ends up being a determination of what gets you to WS faster and considering no other variables such as survivability or acc the zanhasso set does it better.

Better for DPS? Set is already capped SB, Would have to change belt around for lower haste amount.

Edit: I do need Dagon for when I am using Masamune.
