Quite depressing, easily my second favorite character of Fresh Prince.
Thank you for the memorial episodes, I grew up watching this show, truly sad to hear of your passing.

R.I.P James Avery. Uncle Phil.

Broke my heart to read this on the news. Whether he was Uncle Phil or the voice of that dastardly Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he gave my childhood a lot of good memories and hearty laughs. Uncle Phil was in even in a couple Fresh Prince scenes that moved me, like the end of the episode about Wills Father, or when Carlton got arrested for driving a nice car because he was black.

Fantastic actor, and I'm really going to miss him. RIP James, and thank you for all the good times.

I actually remember him playing a judge in a short lived sitcom on UPN called "Sparks"... and I could of sworn he did the voice to Robotnik on that one Sonic Cartoon where they broke out in song.

Double blow to my childhood. :/

He also did the voice to Junkyard Dog in the old old OLD cartoon Hulk Hogans Rock & Wrestling or whatever it was called. What a talented and diverse man. I am still saddened by this news at this time. :<

Sorry for double post, but this scene is the wills dad scene i was referencing. Uncle Phil had such a presence, when he got mad, -I- got scared. xD Beautiful scene. Showcases the talent well I think.
