They still got some digs in yesterday. They were implying that the senate was nuking the house bill before they even knew what was in it. Good for you fox news.
What, you telling me that Reid doesn't nuke any House bills before they even reach the Senate floor?

he has a proven track record of bringing such bills before the bipartisan leadership before either shelving or presenting it. that's a small difference to some, but obviously a big distinction to the moderates in the house and all but a few in the senate.

I tried watching Harry Reid yesterday ... could there be a more meek man ? A light breeze would surely break all the bones in his body.

What, just showing the bill to Cantor and then killing it is still not bringing it to the floor.

Also, he has done more "shelving" than "presenting." A whole lot more, which is a main reason why nothing is getting done in Congress.

Cantor is a Republican in Congress not the Senate. If Reid presents a bill to Cantor and its not going to the floor then it 's Cantor who is shelving rather than presenting.

He is over 6 feet tall and almost 200 pounds. He used to be a boxer. His meekness is an act to portray weakness and kindness and to garner sympathy for his positions.

My apologies, I meant McConnell, but the fact still remains.

Plus, Congress is both the House and the Senate. No wonder people are putting all the blame on the House if they think that House is the entire Congress...

Also, Reid presents a Senate bill to Bohener, not Cantor. Bohener presents a House bill to Reid. If Reid shelves a House bill, how is that Bohener's fault?

Besides, has nobody asked the question: "Why is it all on the House when you have a Senate Majority Leader and the President who refuses to negotiate?"

That is because the media doesn't give a ***about the country, they just want more ratings (and advertising revenue).

Why else would the media be so supportive of Obama? Because of his leading ability? Because of his willingness to negotiate? Because of his bright ideas?

Healthcare.gov is a total disaster. Traffic is down 88% from that first week.

Oh more good news: Bureaucracies in the Obama Administration have thus far published approximately 11,588,500 words of final Obamacare regulations, while there are only 381,517 words in the Obamacare law itself.

30x as long written by un elected beuracrates!

Just because he's the most powerful man in the world, doesn't mean he's responsible for anything. It's all someone else's fault.

Seriously the lunacy these liberals peddle is just absurd.

And.... in response you post a "liberal republican"

Ever hear of a conservative democrat they used to a flourishing species, but now they are all extinct? D & R are party affiliations, there are liberals and conservatives in both parties.

Oh... you don't say?!!!
Jeez I would have never known the difference

"Let's just visit McCain's record for a second, because perspective and context here is critical. He's a fiscal and military hawk. He voted for the Iraq war, pushed for the surge, and currently wants to invade every rogue country in the world. He supports lower taxes for individuals and corporations. He's pro-gun, anti-Obamacare, against gay marriage, is anti-choice and against public funding of abortion-related programs. He's even fairly vague on the subject of immigration. While he supports a two-step process of beefed up border security and overall reforms, it's hard to tell where he truly stands on the actual fate of the nation's 13-million undocumented citizens. And let's not forget he's the Dr. Frankenstein to Sarah Palin's, well, Frankenstein.

Welcome to 2013 Republican politics, where Tea Party crazies rule the day and former conservative icons like Ronald Regan, Bob Dole and Jack Kemp couldn't get themselves elected if they offered to pay for votes. We now live in an age of rabid extremism; a political climate that allows for hard-core, longstanding conservatives like former Indiana Sen. Richard Lugar to be tossed from office for not being conservative enough...and for hard-core conservatives like McCain to be labeled liberal. The GOP's no longer a political party. It's now a cabal led by the likes of Palin, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and other conservakooks."

Welcome to politics

What we really need is for the green party to get jealous and turn this into a four way fight to the death....

Did you know George Washington wasn't the member of any party and the two party system as we know it, started as an argument between his staff members?

So the gov't shuts down, chicken licken gets his royalties, Obamacare gets a ceremonial bashing and then the only concession Tea Partiers get is an income verification (something I think we'd all agree should have been in) concession the WH has no problem with.

We all just bought tickets for this roadshow again come February, Ted Cruz gets to up his national profile and we're all stuck watching another manufactured crisis go from birth to 11th hour twilight.

It's pretty much a total loss for the GOP. They made themselves look terrible, hurt their chances in a few close House races for 2014, the government will re-open, the debt limit will increase, and the Affordable Care Act is a go! I think when we look back in a decade or more, this will be the moment that the Republican party truly hit the rocks. Yes, we'll have this same fight in February but the Republicans have lost their leverage. Any fight then will be mostly show.

Some of these Tea Party guys, at least the House ones, will probably still vote against the Senate's deal. If they do not, they will face primary challenges from even further right... though where we'll find guys further right of some of these kooks, I do not know. Perhaps there are still some Taliban clerics operating in Pakistan?

Cmon guys, it isn't a total loss for the GOP. Now they have this!
In addition to raising the debt limit, the proposal would give lawmakers a vote to disapprove the increase. Obama would have the right to veto their opposition, ensuring he would prevail.

So they can vote it through, but also vote to disapprove the thing they voted through.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

Could you explain why they should buy super servers for millions just to be able to handle the first month traffic?

For the record yup, this is looking like the Tea Party getting routed.

Like High School students, Congress has managed to turn in their work right before the midnight deadline. Good to know no matter what we look like or where we come from we can all appreciate the art of procrastination.
