"We find that 66.4% of abstracts expressed no position on AGW, 32.6% endorsed AGW, 0.7% rejected AGW and 0.3% were uncertain about the cause of global warming. Among abstracts expressing a position on AGW, 97.1% endorsed the consensus position that humans are causing global warming."
So according to this article only 32% of the papers supported the belief in global warming and the bloated 97% is really 97% of the 32%. Thanks.

And this is a perfect example of how this issue gets twisted into an illusion of debate.
Anthropogenic means primarily resulting from atmospheric pollution by humans. The 66% of papers taking no stance on the CAUSE are strictly analysis of data, 32% taking a stance of causation. Together they are 97% of scientific studies reaching the conclusion that global climate change is real and caused by humans, with 2/3 of those studies not expressing an "opinion".
Basically, 97% of studies conclude that humans are responsible for global climate change and 2/3 of those are solely analytical (that's a big deal in scientific circles because it eliminates the variable of subjectivity).

Well, no...
Of the ~4000 papers that stated any kind of position, whether an endorsement or rejection, 97% of them were in agreement about AGW. This is not a unique result, either.

And for the impulse acting, what would you have done if you were president during 9/11? People criticize Bush for acting as he did, but should we have placed a thumb firmly in our collective *** and sat down. Did it fall under "my bad man"? Maybe placing better security measures and a new security administration in our airports would have helped....oh wait...TSA, yeah grand job they do.
Knowing what I did then? Invaded Afghanistan. You know, where OBL and AQ conspirators were said to be hiding. They took credit for the attacks and the Taliban sheltered AQ.
People rightfully criticize Bush and co. because the evidence was weak in Iraq, we were already distributing freedom in Afghanistan and we were quick to adopt the neocon ideas of regime change and attack, attack, attack coated in patriotism and god bless America.
The media on both sides lapped it up and Congress fell in line based on the intel given to them. It was a huge blunder that contributed to our fiscal situation and it could have all been avoided.

Yeah now who is flailing?
Only 32.6% of the papers endorsed global warming, and 97% of those believed the cause of global warming was man-made. 66% of the papers gave no position which means they did not support/endorse global warming. Stop trying to spin these numbers, you crushed your own argument with the article you posted.
Though I'm sure you probably believe that the 66% probably actually saw the evidence of global warming, but were paid by oil companies to say they didn't.

Aman has nothing but his usual Obamacare, Climate Change, RNC talking points rotation. The eagerness to change the topic to something on script every time is telling.
Syria? FEMA CAMPS
Iraq? OBAMACARE
Egypt? CLIMATE CHANGE
Israel? LIBERALS
Red Velvet Cake? COMMUNISTS

Actually I can blame every problem in the Mideast, other than Israel, on Bush.
You can blame anyone one you want... but if you want to get to the root of the problem you have to go back to Kennedy. John Fitzgerald, not bobby or teddy
Cleverly excising which Bush I blame....
Begging your pardon, but it was Prescott Bush and Jack Philby (Hillary "Harry" St-John Bridger Philby) who gave the world the modern Middle east by converting sheiks to kings in order to to make the world safe for constitutional monarchies and empowering the radical Wahhabi sect in the process.
This happened a bit before JFK became president, or his father ran rum.
Besides, I thought all things liberal were ultimately FDR's fault.
I don't remember when prescott bush was president...are you from an alternate time stream?
everything was cool until jfk decided to croak the kings and install the baath party... it's interesting if you look at jfk foreign policy how many messes we are still dealing with fifty some odd years later.
vietnam, cuba, iraq, latin america etc.
fdr is only to blame for messing up the us lol

Prescott Bush was never president, he was arguably more influential than most presidents, though. He's an interesting figure to read about, but he definitely had his role in the ***-storm the middle east has become.

I don't see any kind of link directly to syria from a few quick searches, but I don't think that's what he was implying by bringing up Prescott Bush's influence on the middle east. Just that there were people stirring stuff up before JFK was.

Also Bush Jr. Didn't win his first term, Gore did. Just sayin' I'm sure that if Obama won the electoral vote, but Romney won the popular vote, you would be saying "Working as intended." I'd still be bitching because then we'd have higher tensions with China or at least war. I find it funny the "businessman" candidate wanted to all out go against China...where the cheapest industrial labor is..."BMINO" i guess.
Anyway, Statement:
I firmly believe acting on intelligence
Answer:
Lakshmi.Sparthosx said: »The idea that Saddam was an imminent threat to the US was based on faulty intelligence.
I didn't miss the point, I saw it, and agree. Faulty intelligence always bites people in the ***. Intel is only as good as the people you place in charge of gathering it.
We always seem to have a problem with the little nations that we build always turn around on us and bite our hands. Then, if something happens: surprise, we dont know why it happened.
Because we have egos the size of the Northern hemisphere. We expect our puppet nations to stay as is until we decide to change them. This is why we should mind our own business. Unfortunately, the powers that be want to generate money for themselves and for companies that helped get them elected. I didnt mean to say "You missed the point" i meant to say "We had intelligence something was gunna happen and we just let something happen".
Im surprised with how we arent at war with central and south america for all the naughty coups and government shifts we either directly or indirectly enacted in those countries :< I mean...Cuba hates us for a reason, Castro knows what would happen to him eventually if we had political ties.

...information is subjective....
...so it is almost impossible for anyone to agree on the reality of the world....
...another topic....
Information is nothing more than data, there is no subjectivity.
Quick guide for the difference between objective and subjective.
Information (objective)
The temperature is 84 degrees f.
Opinion (subjective)
It's hot
I'm sorry but this has to be the most blatant example of selective perception I've ever seen. There are plenty of subjective things about society, relationships, politics, etc, but there is nothing subjective about reality.
these people get "reality" and personal reality mixed up a lot, and think the latter holds the same as the former.
I don't even like the idea of a personal reality. You can have your own opinions, but way too many people use terms like personal reality to justify ignoring concrete facts.
Yet people will still construct them and pretend theirs is actual reality. Yes they ignore things, that's being purposely ignorant, there's a word for that.
yes it's called "global warming" just sayin' This is the only one of your posts im going to address and it qualifies as an answer for every post hereafter in this thread: No. Go sit the *** down and read the part of the internet thats all facts and not *** propaganda inaccuracies spread to misinform and poison the voter pool.

Logic and reasoning fails again. It can't be Al Qaeda (Saudi Arabia's hired 'rebels' in Syria estimated at over 40,000 mercenaries who the west gives weapons to) releasing chemicals (again), It must be the 'regime' with nothing to gain from such an action. Anyone believing or supporting another war to kill children should not vote or start getting educated away from the television.
We do not need another war. Keep our men and women home and Syrian children alive. If we weren't arming the Muslim Brotherhood fighting for power in Syria it would have been over a long time ago. Write your congressman/woman today. Not that they will listen but you can let them know they won't get re-elected for it.
Another win for the CIA. Start another war, trick the simpleton public to support it. All because another leader won't bend over to the U.S. interests.
