It was a terrible day, but I lol'd when I notice it as well. Day by day, we'd notice the amount of fish was decreasing (we had like 20). Shrimp was getting bigger. Then, we discovered fish bones. I stayed up one night and caught the perpetrator in action. Drained that mofo.

Ive spent almost $200 in the last month just trying to get my tank fixed. I dont know what is *** crap up. I've lost 2 fish, my ones from fiji and 1 is on its way out the door. I know whats wrong with the tank, but no matter what I do I cant get the water fixed.

Lol ummmm... If i hadnt checked the ph at this point I should just quit the hobby. Duh, thats one of the first things to check! Its my nitrates I cant get under control, I have pure water system that I use for my tank water, and you can NEVER just empty a tank 100% and start over. That will kill all your fish in a matter of an hour or two.

And yes I know you cannot completely empty a tank and plop ur fricking fish into a bowl and start over... /facepalm I meant by doing a 25-30% water change over the course of a few days to slowly cycle in new water. Also if you overfeeding your fish at all (and this could be someone else feeding them when u don't see as well) the leftover food converts from food -> ammonia-> Nitrates
