It is actually very different than XI, the level up system is completely re-worked, the battle system is completely different and the character creation is very versatile. I've watched a TON of videos and not seen one person looking like another person.

I'm not saying XIV won't be different from XI, but it also isn't really new innovative stuff. I need more reasons to go to a new MMO and burn half my life away than "it looks pretty" and "Some things are different from XI". And about character creation, have you seen it in some other MMOs? Like I said PSO came out that long ago and even then you could completely customize your characters proportions and hair colour. It wasn't restricted to pre-defined settings and even if there is more in XIV it still doesn't give you full control. Why is that so hard for SE?

Really? Last time I checked it just had lots of settings for height/size. It didn't have slider controls so you could make a truely unique height for instance.
It's there now, same as chin, nose, forehead, cheek size etc.

At the moment, you can only start in Limsa Lominsa, and you have a big cutscene on a ship, and then end up in the port.
I assume each town will have an unique cutscene
That's the last part of it, there's a huge cutscene with a giant serpent in it lol.
