I'm pretty sure there was a thread on solo SA/TA (w/o ws'ing) and how slow+ gear was not the best for it because of how much delay it'd add to your next swing.

And yes there are difference in at least some peices of gear to max your dmg from all those different situations. Thf stuff is overly messy

How often I merit doesn't warrant throwing away that much gil for..what? 5 DMG? 8 DMG? Just not worth it to me.

Changed Head and neck out for more DEX, I'd have to join a Dyna, but I'd want AF2 gloves and stuff for other jobs, too anyway. And Neck would require I get my LS's assistance.

Yeah, but how much? DE seems to be more about DEX, also this is a set for 2 WSs. DE and SB.
Well, DE is more about CHR, but still, DEX more than STR.

Gdi I just made a huge post and had alot on there.
Anyways Look at it is this way. On solo SA 1 dex= 1 base dmg 1 str is .25 base dmg agi=nothing.
On sata same but agi is 1 base dmg.
Well ok technically that is just the main hand and the offhand will get different bonuses and not get critted. But the difference between them wont be great on just solo SA or SATA as compared to even a single hit ws which I will factor in.
On SA or SATA DE assuming 6 hits connect 1 dex is about 3.66 to base dmg, 1 str is 1.73 and 1 agi is either 1.93 or 2.22 depending on if you have af+1 hands or not. 1 chr is about 2.3 to base dmg.
This isn't exactly the base dmg average per hit so much as approximately how much is added per hit added together factoring in difference of ftps and pdifs per hit since some things (SA TA mods only are applied on first hit.) I also assume that the crit hit basically makes your pdif about 1.5X what it would be compared to the other non critted hits so weighing the first hit more. Acc becomes slightly more important as well as att. Also assuming using breeze gorget.
On sharkbite... well really the only time you shouldn't use DE is on high def/evasion/lvl mobs in which case you should probably use man stab instead. So I will do math for man stab same as before. 1 str is about 1.04 to base dmg, 1 agi is about 3.15 or 3.62 with af+1 gloves. Dex would be 4.19. Acc and attack also wont be as big an issue on man stab. Though att will still be an issue on SB and dex will be worth a little more on SB.
As far as weapons go for merits I'd use max dmg trial dagger and offhand the OAT one. For HNMs max dmg and offhand probably SK or the str/att trial one or the dex/acc one. Oh and if you can use fire bomblet.
Oh yeah and all that assumes uncapped fstr. Capping fstr in merits on thf is damn easy. At which point str does nothing

Get a PCC it'd be the best full time neck piece you could get for THF because you're gonna be using bolts a lot of the time anyways. I change head, body, hands, waist, legs, feet; those are your best bets to get the best gear in which spot. I change head neck body hands legs waist. But yeah the gains on the other slots aren't huge comparatively depending on what you got.
