It is a little expensive for that size. But really that's a great deal because it uses new LED backlighting technology which currently is extremely expensive. Frankly I'm surprised that TV isn't $750+, that's a deal I don't wanna miss.

I used newegg for both the pc and wifi card I bought, and a 650 watt psu I had gotten a long time ago. ..and my old 256 card.

Haven't really had any problems, was just looking for possible other sites.. maybe I shouldn't bother with that though.

you might be able to find the same parts cheaper other places... but id personally say save yourself the headache. neweggs prices are about as good/competitive as they get and their reliable as hell.

and for 250, you can get realllll decent cards. even your 1-150 cards will do you solid. id say take 30 mins and look at prices/reviews. careful of the brands too... like, you might see the same model of card by pny technology, evga, biostar, etc..

id personally endorse evga, asus and biostar, and say definitely steer clear of diamond and pny ***.

Biostar makes godawful mobos, but I haven't heard much on their video cards. Also I thought PNY was pretty high end, although I haven't seen many reviews, and the few I have seen weren't that great.

I'm waiting for i7 prices to drop a little more before I make myself a big upgrade. But I certainly would like abit more RAM. 4 gigs is adequate (considering vista) but moar would be better, and it would be even more efficient when I make the jump to win7.

Then don't~
Sit back, put on some good tunes, have a glass of wine, watch a movie, order pizza. Don't gotta play if you don't wanna. Nobody can fault you for not being logged in when you don't feel like it.

I bypassed vista after the horror stories I'd heard so many of. Was a diehard xp user, but I sure don't mind 7 64bit.

Then again, when XP came out I was a diehard Windows 98 user who wouldn't switch.. :3
I prefer Vista.. both my parents run 7.. and I can't stand using it.

if you want quiet lol.. get an MSI mobo with DrMos. its power efficiency capability is insane. my computer was quiet before i got one, and now its literally silent. check it out too id say ^^

edit: i should say it wont matter what other parts you have with a DrMos board. it alone and automatically makes your system essentially silent.

Well, the reason there are so many vista horror stories is because when it came out SP1 was notorious for raping your system resources. SP2 shoulda been included in the release package, but alas this is Microsoft. Not a good idea to immediately jump on any new brand of hard or software off the bat until all the lil issues are worked out.

But vista is only a real big hastle if you don't have the specs to back it up. Win7 combines the simplicity of XP and the functionality of vista minus sucking your PC dry of power. I can't wait to jump over. My only gripe with vista right now is that it randomly decides "Hey your software doesn't exist! lawl go restart".

I thought a good portion of the noise a PC makes comes from GPU fan, CPU heatsink/fan and HDD?

and more than that aux case fans, but yeah. DrMos is an integrated chipset driver that basically automatically controls power allotment to parts based on their atm usage. since ive had this board, the only time ive been able to get my gpu fans loud enough to be heard was running a system benchmark. but running games, everyday stuff, even stressing the system with a lot of resource hungry crap, i never hear a peep with it ^^.

Silent isn't really like "quiet as the grave". I just don't want a *** wind tunnel next to me again.

My compaq was like a jet engine because it had the chassis fan running at lol4000 rpms..

I'm surprised it didn't explode..
Sounds like the old Mac I had when I was waaay younger.

jesus particle board tables are expensive ._.

heres what you do-

go to home depot, grab a couple 2 x 4's and horse joints. also grab a couple pieces of ply wood or particle board (whatevers cheaper).

now make some horses. then put the piece of plywood on top of them. viola, 100$ table for 13$.
