Aww come on huggles rydiya...
I'm conflicted about restarting my Elvaan character atm. I really would like to start fresh with him and have a better hairstyle/height and all that, but that would be throwing away:
75 MNK, 75 SAM, 75 COR, Byakko Haidate, Destroyers, Brutal Earring, Rajas Ring, Bushinomimi, Shura Togi, etc. etc. etc.
But really, it's nothing I can't get again. The only exception being the Nomad's Cap which I got at the Fan Fest back in 07'.

Nope. Not gonna happen. People in Aled's old shell know what, but that's the most I'm saying on the matter.

Thing is, I came back to FFXI with fairly low expectation. I honestly doubt I'll get into the srsbzns of the HNM scene. All I really wanted was to have a fresh start and enjoy the jobs classes I enjoy and appreciate the finer details of the game such as music/cutscenes/missions/storyline etc.
Wouldn't be the end of the world to toss my OG toon away with XIV on the horizon but it would still be sad to see a 7 year investment go down the drain.

I dunno. Would be interesting to do it all over again as Galka xD If I did that then I wouldn't really have to delete my original toon since I have this extra content ID sitting around~

In a way.. yeah. Everyone knows me as That one Mithra, Rydiya.. No one remembers That bitchy, mean tarutaru Black Mage named Suomomo.
It's funny how playing a different race can for some people slightly alter your personality. I felt most like myself on my elvaan, on my mithra I felt adventurous and cunning, and finally on my tarutaru I was alot more mischievous, careless and perverted. I suppose it's fitting.

Ya know screw it. Too many memories on Arte. I can't toss him aside for anything. He'll go down when the FFXI servers do.
I think I'll just have fun starting anew on my taru & mithra. Now if only I can decide on which one to focus on haha.

Edit: Soon as Suo gets 20, I'll take the jog to Jeuno and register her butt.
How lame. I have to reactivate an ID just to delete it. Oh well $1 is worth not having to see a character that sits there but doesn't exist lol.

I have the same problem. I started FFXI not knowing you can change your job. So I made a girl monk and an elvaan fighter. Well I ended up having a lot more fun being mithra and considering how much of a time-suck this game is I decided to put all my time into my mithra. But here I am ... a Manthra ... Granted I really enjoy the mithra race, more than Elvaan anyways.
I started a hume male, got him to rdm38 with a few subjobs then realized:
I'd have to buy all my scrolls twice.
I'd have to get all new maps.
I'm starting at 0 for reputation and quests.
So I say f it. IM a Manthra. Hear me rowr.

You guys just gave me an idea. I could sacrifice a mule and make a new character on another server. hmmmm
Yeah I'm crazy. I'm splitting all 19 (I refuse to acknowledge Puppetmaster) job classes across 3 toons based on style/armor type for the most part.
My elvaan will be playing: WAR, SAM, MNK, PLD, DRK, DRG
Mithra: THF, NIN, DNC, BST, COR, RNG
Taru: WHM, BLM, RDM, BLU, SCH, SMN, BRD
Pain in the ***? You better believe it, but I love the variety and it lets me see everything under a different light, especially in the gameplay.

My original character, the first Suomomo.. >.> SuomomoV1 if you will, was only 75 BLM 37 WHM.. this was in the pre-toau days. You can see where I got on Rydiya so far though.
