Think it's my boots. God I don't like paying $100 for a new pair. They need to start issuing us boots instead of us having to pay for them.
Did they ever? I always bought mine again. Oddly enough it usually is one of the few items that was cheaper and much better quality to buy out in town vs on base

It normally takes me 40-45 minutes to shave. I also go through a razor blade everytime I shave. At least it's only once a month.
I felt so nekkid after shaving mine after a 4 day weekend.
@DAS Our shop buys the mechanics new boots every 6 months based on wear. The office people are on their own for new ones. We've recently went through a uniform change that isn't effective until 2011, but for the initial issue they made us go buy the uniforms and boots versus reissuing them.

We get this thing called a uniform allowance once a year. And last year we got an extra one for the huge uniform change which was really nice since NW region didn't switch till after I got out anyways but they gave the pay to everyone same time lol

Well I was on ADOS (voluntary active duty order) for two years so I should have received SOMETHING. My boots are worn the *** out. I've glued the sole back on the right one 3 times.
That seems like a long time. I hate shaving and it probably only takes me 20-25 mins. Or maybe it just seems that long or longer.
Being that I only shave once a month it's a lot to shave. If I had a trimmer or something it'd be a little quicker probably.

I went a month without drilling so the two month shave was horrible and took an hour. I do NOT want to find out how long it would take for 3 months. I'd probably get annoyed with it before it even reached that long.

I can't stand more than about 5-6 days in warm humid weather 2 weeks in cold dry places. Gets way too itchy.
The annoying itchy stage usually only sticks around for a couple days. I'll shave if it gets to the point of affecting my sleep because of not being able to lay my head certain ways.

Actually they do check. I just didn't get the memo about the last one until the day of. Didn't do any good then since I was in the midst of moving and had none of my ***.
They don't expect you to have everything with you on deployment, but they expect you to have what you need. As far as what you're talking about, that would be in addition to the initial requirements.
I was on active duty for stretches of 169 days at a time (due to admin reasons and to get me the most money; not allowed anymore). I believe our admin refelects that I have 2 full years worth of active duty time on record. Too bad it doesn't help retirement (not that I'm staying in anyway).
