I never played Halo: Wars or know when it took place, but I'm pretty sure it's before the war that most of the Spartans died in.
Yeah, it was detailing the first contact with Covenant, I believe.

I have Halo 3 and only have played the multiplayer
Halo Wars included Spartans and the first encounter with the Flood and stuff. Had all the commanders and stuff from various Halo books (never read, just seen on the wiki before).

I played the Halo Wars demo. Wasn't impressed so didn't bother with the full game. If I want to play a game like that, I'll go play Starcraft.

Every game is short nowadays. You get used to it.
And Firefight alone was worth 60 dollars, imo. Let alone all the DLC maps for Matchmaking.

Halo: Reach is the last Halo made by Bungie. Rest are going to made by a subsidiary of MS. It's all in the wiki article. Bungie already said they were done with the Halo series based around Master Chief.
ODST simply was not a full game - that was a *** expansion, lol.
Firefight is meh; the rest of my friend's list didn't like ODST that much either so no one plays it anymore.
I already had all the maps so it was no use to me.
The newer Crystal Chonicals are so *** lame. I don't even bother with them anymore. I can't wait for XIII though.
Borderlands will keep me satisfied until Modern Warfare 2, where the real awesomeness lies.

And it was never MADE to be a full game. It was deliberately an expansion, that was the idea from the start.
But the fact that it can work as a standalone game and only one person is complaining about it, well I think they did pretty well.

I agree about Firefight. I enjoyed the hell out of it for a bit there. I still need to finish up the achievements sometime.

I foresee it going downhill from there. Hopefully they don't completely screw it up though.
What is Bungie's next big project? I haven't paid much attention to them in a while.

In other news, I'm working on CoD: WaW while the guy I'm staying with is at work in the afternoons. He plays online with a group of people in the evenings, but I get a couple hours of play time in at least. My biggest problem is getting used to the controls. I keep hitting halo controls. I probably should just switch the controls around (I can, right?).
My issue is the fact that it costs $60 bucks.
And you should see the ODST forums on Bungie.net. It's far from just me that was dissappointed. I know they only had one year to make it, but damn, don't make it seem like it's a big-*** thing then it's only a few hours of gameplay. c.c

I miss games where they made it simple. A story line that people can relate to, gun battles that were insane and fun to replay, characters we know and love, kick *** music, bad *** weaponry...

I find it so difficult to play Halo online now, I'm so used to CoD. I don't even play Halo 3 anymore, I've gotten so terrible at it now. It's just so slow compared to CoD's fast-pacedness, if that's a word. c.c

Seriously, get Borderlands. The story is...well funny as ***. The fights are pretty nice, the music is good to me (I generally have music in the background from iTunes), characters are cool, and the weaponry is...ridiculous.

I beat Halo 3 on Heroic on my first playthrough in 9 hours.
Compare that to the 6 hours for ODST, plus TWO multiplayer modes and even MORE matchmaking maps, honestly I think ODST was a better deal than Halo 3.

That was MS who heavily advertised it. Bungie just designed the game while MS published it. When Bungie split from MS they agreed that only MS can publish their games.
ODST was too weak, IMO. Firefight is ok, but seems like playing GTA after you completed the game 100%. What's the purpose besides seeing how long you can last?
