That’s better than me some days when I was in my twenties and early thirties.

Wake up with the gotta get to work and get that money energy. Pull up to the parking lot like, “OK I came can I go home now?” Before the key was out of the ignition.

Finally did something for myself on Friday.

Had 17 days worth of vacation time left for the year, decided to take my mother's bday off and the 2 weeks at the end of December.

Will be a good time.

Made plans to actually do something on my bday for once.

Only sad part is because GF is on winter break I won't be able to spend much if any time with her since her parents still don't know about me and it'd be suspicious. ;.;

Okay enough about me, how is everyone else this fine day?

that's good to hear... while you were out eating chicken fried steak with grandma we knocked out three old dyna zone wins for changa and then got our faces punched in by dyna d in sandy.

totally forgot about qufim boss gimmick with the venom..

everyone I know... too invested in their game schedule

/sits down for long talk
they are probably feeling you out a little on this one son...

as you can imagine, there are a lot of returners coming and going staying a little while, getting bored and quitting again. all of them need a substantial amount of help and often times the return on those investments aren't real great...

so not everyone is real eager to drop whatever it is they are doing to help someone who is only going to be on a little while before quitting again....especially if they want to get carried.

which, I'm not saying YOU do... just in general...

we have a special offer going for a limited time called "just enough rope to hang yourself with" where we help you out a little bit but you are pretty much on your own... you can do the stuff we're doing... or you can solo. what are we doing? nobody knows, when are we doing it? pretty much whenever we feel like it.

and maybe it's because we're all still back a few pages from the rest of the class that we don't mind helping.... idk

and from the sounds of it you're already ahead of us on the curve... so if you want to get in with the top guys doing the hard tier stuff you will have to prove to them you have what it takes already...

which I know can be a bit of a kick in the nuts sometimes... a little ego bruising is good for you now and then when you get to big for your britches...

if you want to clown around with a bunch of clowns that don't know what the hell they are doing, forget what little they learn but also require very little to nothing in return for helping...

The Return to Job Point Mountain
aka "dude, where are your stars"

I've seen job point mountain crush a lot of returning people's hopes and dreams...especially right in the beginning when you have no cp bonuses and you're still working on your gear... and you're like... how many capacity points was that!? ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

but I'm old and what the hell else do I have to do?... I play this game because I hate television commercials and run out of things to watch on netflix...so I'm all /swings great axe I'VE BEEN WORKING ON THE RAILROAD!!! ALL THE LIVE~LONG DAY!!!

I watched rua's geo video and he is all "it takes seven months to get the golden shovel"....and I'm all...yeah but I'm an idiot so it will take me at least twice as long... /gets to work on it

On my Geo that was 1890 when I returned, was able to get 300 points in under 2hrs. But this because I have 50% cape, ROV KIs and Job Gifts that increase my CP gain for job points. This was in a party. Basically a job point every 2 mobs.

On Rune with 245 points, soloing it’s much much much more Grindy.
I can keep my capacity chain up barring a NM pop in Escha-Reisenjima but that’s like 6k a mob which is like a job point every 5, 2 when Trizek is active. My Rune kills fast when AM3 is up but getting AM3 and keep it consistent is the slow/hard part.

if you suffered the leveling days of the xp grind or merit parties in 75cap era. then grinding cp isn't much different.

Except I don't have the freetime I did then, plus balancing FFXIV FC responsibilities on top of it.

These days things aren't as perfect for a grindy game like FFXI

Mmm I've balanced well enough lately.

I like focusing on RL as much as I have, it's a breath of fresh air knowing I'm no longer using games as an escape.

Yea and with ROV KIs you can do salvage all day everyday if you wanted. Same with Dynamis.
