I met an Aussie couple here and drank with them all night. I have vague memories of this song and a ladyboy show Monday so reopened for business
Long weekend was long...
Morning folks. How goes Monday? Back in the office sitting on my hands because work is dead slow.
It has been a while since i have invested some time into an actual turn based rpg, mainly because they cant really hold my attention for long (I am looking at you FFT-Z/FFXV) but seems P5 will. 2-3 Hrs in and liking the story so far. Saw Guardians over the weekend, liked the movie, pretty fun, but I think 1 was superior. Summer weather sucks.
Parker! Yell at it untill it goes away! We dont want any! Why was yesterday dead here?
Did someone take the doormat away? Parker, load the security cam! Asura.Dameshi said: » Ugh. Woke up and thought it was Saturday. Now I have a headache. *reaches for the medicine cabinet, hand hovering between aspirin and ibuprofen* I heard this weird rumor from PARKER that some idiot sock on the NInternet was suggesting BC Powder. And even though BC Powder is bad and this person should feel bad for recommending it... bc powder is bad mmkay caffeine od deaths Every evil scientist knows that you never ever ever, never ever, never never ever, never ever never ever experiment on yourself!.. What does anyone here really know about Meshi? He has a good start on a coffee mug collection, he probably has a moderate to severe coffee addiction and maybe a bit of a drinking problem... who doesn't? So I recommend you go with the safest option which is Ibuprofen. Motrin or Advil following in the footsteps/recommendation of every single doctor in the known universe over the last forty years or so. But I wouldn't recommend anyone take Excedrin, as another example, setting BC Powder aside a moment, it's a tylenol/aspirin/caffeine mix, it works quickly on headaches I have used it myself from time to time. BUT I don't EVER take it in the morning after I had four or ten cups of coffee to avoid OD'ing on caffeine, and tylenol probably isn't the best thing for your liver after a hard night of drinking and aspirin works but it's harsher on your stomach than ibuprofen. So I have used it, I know it works, I know it works fast but I wouldn't go around like an *** recommending it blindly to other people just because it worked for me a couple of times. That's not how unsolicited medical advice works. You don't tell people to take things that could potentially kill them or make them worse. You have to take in ALL THE VARIABLES. You have to consider it thoughtfully. You don't just blurt out the first thing that pops into your head that your grandpappy told you one time. So here is why BC Powder is an even worse recommendation than Excedrin. Because it's a powder. It's right there in the name. Ok you have the FDA which is the food and drug administration and they say You know what...maybe powdered caffeine isn't so great... and you know what else? powdered aspirin can irritate your mouth your gums your throat your stomach your intestines and your a-hole... ibuprofen is a lot less irritating let's recommend that instead and every doctor on the planet agrees Can you put those 2 + 2 recommendations together? and then let the answer fill you up with the enlightenment that maybe it's probably also not a great idea for everyone to take both at the same time Do you think Maybe, just maybe, Meshi probably has a gallon or two caffeine already sloshing around in his belly and he doesn't read the ingredients, he sees the bc powder and he says...oh yeah some dumbass on the internet recommended that to me and he scarfs it down.... Hmm... all valid points Dr. Nikolce....
Can I have a prescription for whiskey now? And here is another example of why bad advice is bad and you should feel bad for offering it....
My father in law had kidney stones and they were flaring up and hurting his kidneys/back and he read some advice on the internet called... the jump and bump method... or something... the name is not important. It follows the same dumbass prescription for stupidity that ALL bad advice on the internet seems to follow..... I had a problem similar to yours, I did ____ once and it worked for me, Maybe it will work for you. So basically this method instructs the sufferer to jump up and down on concrete, landing hard, to knock the stone loose out of the kidney.... What do you imagine happens if the stone that is knocked loose in this manner is too large to fit down your pee tube that you just knocked it into? WELL It feels like huge Nazi SS guards are holding you down and hammering a rusty railroad spike into your dickhole and it's sticking out of your back. Was the advice bad? If you don't know the size of the stone? I am going to go with yes, yes it's very bad advice and nobody should ever try it under any circumstances ever. except lolserj, I hope he tries it Bartimaeus said: » WEB MD told me my headache is cancer. Is it on the right or left side ? Because I too once had cancer. And it was on the left side. I then ate an Orange and it was K. Maybe it will work out for you ? It shouldn't surprise you...they still sell oxycodone... /shrug hell they mix them both together... in a few very particular instances tylenol/acetaminophen can be handy to drop a fever... if you have a kid with a 103 and climbing and you already gave them a wack of motrin a couple hours ago... but I think they don't do enough to stress how easy it is to OD on that crap. If you're using the baby stuff you got the weight based measurements right on the bottle and all that but still it's risky and people don't know HOW risky it really is... Shiva.Nikolce said: » but I think they don't do enough to stress how easy it is to OD on that crap. It's not even how easy it is that's so terrifying, it's that if you do, that's that; there is no fix, no countermeasure. You OD on Tylenol and you are dead, period. It's not gonna be quick or painless, either - can take up to 4-6 weeks. Would probably bother me less if "Tylenol" wasn't a synonym for "pain killer" to a lot of people (much like how in the South everything is a "Coke", even if it's actually a Pepsi or Dr. Pepper or whatever) Confirmed. Ni is a better place to get medical advice than webMD.
Have you yelled at the headache to go away ?
And now it is time for Honest Truths, With King Meshi.
When I typed that post, I didn't actually have a headache. I just wanted to be topical with the pill debate. And this concludes this segment of Honest Truths, With King Meshi. Meshi doesnt have a headache.
Booze method works. confirmed. Drink more booze. Shiva.Nikolce said: » Asura.Dameshi said: » Ugh. Woke up and thought it was Saturday. Not to get in a big argument over this or anything, but technically the FDA Alert is for Pure Powdered Caffeine, not BC powder. Something that the FDA alert mentions is that a teaspoon of this pure caffeine is the equivalent of 28 cups of coffee, looking here it looks like a pure caffeine powder product being sold has 4706mg of caffeine per teaspoon. Here it states that an 8oz cup of coffee has about 95-165mg of coffee, and if you do the math and you're using the larger amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee (165mg) it looks like the above number of 4706mg is about accurate(165*28=4620). If you want to use 95x28 as your "28 cups of coffee" base, then you would end up with around 2660mg, which is still a lot of caffeine. Checking the info on BC Powder you'll see that they contain 65mg of caffeine, a much smaller amount than your average cup of coffee. I'm not saying that anybody should have too much caffeine, but the FDA warnings you're citing are only relevant (in regards to caffeine) if you take a ***load of BC powder, and I would assume that you'd reach a "***load" of aspirin much sooner than a "***load" of caffeine with BC powder, since the original formula has 845mg of aspirin according to the website. But basically, Pure Powdered Caffeine != BC Powder
It's like comparing an Ice Berg to Ice Cubes Sure both are ice, but the Ice Berg is a ***load more ice And in this case I suppose it would only be a good comparison if the Ice Berg was also like 7% Ice and 93% Titanic, since that's about the same ratio of Caffeine to Aspirin in BC Powder. |
