So what you're saying is it's not a shared contract, each person within the marriage makes their own and their only requirement is to uphold the one they made, they are not to care about their partners?

I told my wife that even if she kicks me out of the house, divorces me (which anyone can legally do) and marries another guy, (which don't even get me started on second marraiges) and/or tries to kill me for the insurance money.

I still wont ever take my ring off.

My side of the agreement isn't dependant on anyone else's actions or inactions. She could fall into a coma ans stay there forty years, die in childbirth, IT DOESN"T MATTER

you can't figure a way out of it. I already thought of every concievable possibility.
I'd rather not figure a way out of it. I just want to understand the entire thing. It doesn't feel as clear cut to me as so many others have tried to make it in the past, but I know most of that comes from my need to overthink every last tiny detail and make things as precise as possible for myself.

Marriage is just an enigma to me for weird reasons.

Again, this really depends on a person's definition of marriage

mine's a little more psychotic in the pathalogical devotion department... perhaps.....

Gonna have to give up the waifus first.

edit: Reading back through everything, I'm reminded Nik is one of those people who makes me feel like I'd be perfectly okay sitting near a fire drinking scotch talking ***with him.

Ni has to get deep every so often, helps keep the balance. Just like sometimes(most times) I need to come in here and be ridiculous and stupid. Balance.

don't fault someone else for having a different opinion on how much commitment is required for their marriage

the problem is almost nobody thinks it through first. what marraige is, what it means to them, what it means to their partner etc.

like making a pact with the devil and then acting suprised when he gets your soul at the end.

Kelsy Grammer, great example, if he asked you to marry him would you believe it was going to last forever?

I think he is on wife number eight now I lost count...

Who is dumber? his fourth wife or his third? Or is he just an ***?

I think a lot of people think it through, but you never really know how a situation is going to end up

A spouse who is perfectly fine at the start might end up being an abusive ***

And I know it is difficult to sometimes give up on a loved one, but sometimes that's just what happens

I for one wouldn't be able to stay in a relationship that ended in the other partner being physically or mentally abusive, and I don't think that abuse is a valid response to abuse either

Well you are a girlboy so I suppose you could legally marry yourself...

PARKER look into it. I suggest starting with the most socially conservative area you can find and ask the biggest, meanest looking person you can find. Those people are trustworthy. Bonus points if they're a biker. Free bottle of water if automatic weaponry is legal there.

I usually have eggrolls for breakfast. Not big on breakfast food unless it's home made or from a diner or something.

I think a lot of people think it through,

Well then... I hope you can find some enjoyment in being wrong....
Because you are wrong and you should feel bad! (4spence!)

My statement is based on statistical analysis, not thoughts or feelings. Most people, when they think about the future, do not consider the negative.

Not only do they not want to think about bad things, they don't even want to know about if they could. Using a time machine or some sort of window to look into the future.

"More than 2,000 people from Germany and Spain were asked in face-to-face interviews whether they would want to know about future events in their lives. Nearly all — 85 to 90 percent — would not want to know about upcoming negative events. Up to 70 percent preferred to remain ignorant of positive ones."
