Morning all.

That '7 days to die' is a buggy, crashing, corrupting save file son of a ***, and I love it. It's about time these HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE 'next gen' systems got a game worth playing. I'm going to try to support the hell out of it in hopes more PC type games get ports. I can't, in good conscience, recommend any of you to buy it anymore though. I'll let you guys know if it ever works.

work has been too busy, and the children too needy, thus my lack of attendance at NI official functions of late. all apologies, so on, and so forth.

hhhhmmmmm mmmmmmmm.

how are the rest of you dirty dogs?

in other... soccer style field goal kick in the balls while someone is holding your arms back news....

auntie porkchop and uncle moonshine are both in intensive care...

I had three relatives in three different ICUs in two different hospitals monday. father in law is out but the other two aren't looking so hot.

we had to restrain auntie porkchop from jumping into the casket with uncle porkchop when he passed last year so her slide surprises none...

and uncle moonshine has had umpteen strokes already and then sunday was asking his mommy for some money to go buy candy...

I was all WOW that is not good...

which isn't what you are supposed to say. "awww honey /hug ...he mightstill pull through...."

preferably spoken in a cheery, reassuring and optimistic tone.

*reads world news*
*news national news*
*reads Nik's post*

Well, things seem to be on fire everywhere.

*looks at his notecards*

Yeah, none of this seems pertinent anymore.

*tosses 'em in the shred pile*

*finishes coffee*

Screw this. I'm going to go buy more coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Someone come up with something that isn't shitty in the world.

I've got one for ya. Apparently there are some people who are using Pokemon Go for good and have downloaded apps that donate to charities based on miles walked. If that's not a slight glimmer of hope, I don't know what could be. This world is embroiled in *** up, right now.

I hate to break it to you pansies, but the world is always *** up, the degree to which you pay attention is what varies.

Well that's going to make for a ***weekend, AGAIN. you poor ***. I don't recall too many uncle moonshine stories, but my condolences on both fronts. The most definite little part of life always cuts like a knife. It's kind of weird really. It's not like there's another option.

what happened to your dad?

Oh he gained rank 15 in meditation and ascended to the 8th ethereal plane!

nope, homeboy died just like billions of fools before him. no surprise, yet we are all completely mystified everytime.

WHHHYYY!?!??!?!?

cause it's the end of all our stories, yo.

meh. idk, I'm just a dumbass contractor from the midwest.

/shrug

ANYWAY, Happy dance party friday, ***!!!

Parker HIT IT!!!

My dad always tells me these stories of himself when he was my age and how he was a hippy, etc. He lived in Alabama in the 50s and 60s, so I asked him how he could tolerate being bigoted towards the black people out there. He would always respond with something like, "You just didn't stand up to your elders," or "That's just the way things were, son." My thing is, I get that you want self preservation, but if you know and can comprehend that something is horribly wrong on the morality scale, and your only argument is "Everyone else does it so I should too," why the hell don't you make a stand? Consequences be damned, it's those moments of bravery that define people and allow progress (oh I know, progress is a 4 letter word to the dinosaurs that frequent this thread) to move forward.

When I hear stuff about how bad things are (like the whole shebang out in France) and that we should turn a blind eye to it, it just reminds me of my dad in pre Civil Rights era Alabama. Does it make me just as bad?

The intimidation factor can be pretty mighty sometimes in situations like that. Standing up to it is hard enough, overcoming it is even harder.

I get that. The risks are gigantic. You could face losing family, friends, your job, etc. But if we don't take a stand sometimes, who will?

I don't disagree with you in the least. Every last person in Germany wasn't a Jew-hating, master-race-supporting douche.

Just enough of them to cow the rest into submission for their own gains.

Meh.

Society sucks. Let's burn this *** to the ground already.

Edit: I think I should run in 2020 on that platform. (I'm not eligible this year, curse my mother not having sex a year earlier!)

Oh you missed my point entirely. You don't have to accept it and move on at all. By all means, go join up with the kurds and kill some jihadis, or covert to islam, move to syria and preach the way of peace. saying it's *** up is masturbatory as that is wildly evident. that's not taking any kind of stand at all. DO SOMETHING if it bothers you. I'd go kill some jihadis if if didn't have a million kids to raise. I'm with you in spirit, I just find it fruitless to bemoan something that is obviously evil and grotesque.

I think for some folks it's just a daily reality check.

"This is *** up, right? I'm not out of my mind. This is really happening and it's not okay, even though there's really not a lot I can do about it?"

"Yeah. This is *** crazy. But I've got invoices to finish."

"Word."
