Yea sucks, I had similar thing happen. Went for an interview, an hour later they called claimed they loved me and wanted me to come for 2nd interview to shadow a girl who works there. I thought it went well but the lil *** must have judged me on her own and told them not to pick me. no call or even an email declining me. Just all happy praises and got me all excited for them to screw me over.

On the upside, they clearly don't have their ***together at all, so maybe this is just a speed bump on the way to something great.

An increasing number of software companies do that now, actually (including mine). There's quite a bit of debate on how good it really is, since the lack of clear rules means people don't take as much as they should at times. Often, people take less vacation under open PTO. There's been a number of studies on it, but I'm lazy and don't feel like looking.
My last three performance reviews have all basically been official scoldings for not taking enough vacation.

Say you're doing a presentation and your product doesn't perform one feature that the customer wants. They say without the feature the deal is a loss and because of it they wonder why you're even doing the presentation and that you're wasting their time. How do you respond?
Another one was basically to describe what the product was from my last company so that a 5 year old could understand. Which basically lead to where I couldn't use any words like computer or things like that. It kinda through me off guard because normally my presentations were to people who were technical, knowledgeable or needed a solution to fit their needs. Not like Hey~ so this is how the product works. Say you have a dog named scruffy and you want to do things to scruffy without harming it so we're going to use stuffed animals instead. Like...thats sorta a good example but not really since it only covered one feature set. iono kinda weird.

my response was to apologize and see if any workarounds could be achieved but in my head was like...wtf if they need a feature that we don't provide wouldn't that disqualify them for the sale?
