Top of the morniing to ya.

Spent all of Saturday moving the last of the movables. Washer/dryer moved and hooked up, and using them allowed me to find out that the water drainage from my new home is, in fact, beyond the worse case scenario predicted by my inspector.

That's not to say it's catastrophic, but "unfucking drainage situation" just leapfrogged a few things on my list of ***to get done.

Good thing I know a guy, as it were.

Despite this, I'm still in a pretty good mood overall because hey. I'm moved! Now I just need to unpack and enjoy the fun perks and quirks of home ownership!

Took Friday off so I can be home alone and really wail on my acoustic kit. My poor drums have been in storage for almost a decade.

I'd have been fine either way, but the wife's attitude was: "Hell no, we're having boys if I have to go in there and edit the DNA myself. Girls are the worst."

I'm really no expert on this topic, but it really does seem to me that women want female children less than men do.

If told having children was a thing that had to happen and I were allowed to pick I would probably have a girl. But I'd also probably be the worst *** dad every by way of overprotection to the point where it wouldn't even be a cliché, it would be borderline criminal.

me: "Is that boy playing with feces? Around my little girl?"

wife: "I don't think that's..."

me: "Better be safe. Cleanse it and him with fire."

Her explanation for it was twofold:
- She isn't a pink/purple/unicorns/princess type and never was, and is afraid she'd have to disown a daughter that was
- "Every daughter fights incessantly with her mother, and I don't want to fight with our child from age 12+"

I hoped for a girl... until I had a niece...
she will be 22 this may... so far she has evaded the karmic justice of having a girl of her own. I have my IN YOUR FACE!!! loaded and at the ready for when her daughter repeats all of her same mistakes....

I'm fairly certain you just described my wife as well, whose relationship with her father was worlds better than with her mother for the years of 12-24 or so as well. And to this day I suspect if you asked her to pick a parent she'd take about as long to pick her dad as you'd take to decide whether or not to save your drowning child.

She doesn't hate her mother at all. I just sort of suspect that when it comes to her mother she's very much the middle child (second of three with her father, second of six overall) and she's just very much her dad's little girl given her father's youngest is a boy.

*shrug*

All moot as she wants kids less than I do, and I just don't care.

My daughters fight with each other, and their mother, as much as they possibly can. It's like a super annoying hobby.

I cleaned up all the dead *** in my yard since it was 70 damn degrees, so now all the yard crap I have to do it just victory garden 2.0 related, which will be OK.

Misa listened to me, unlike the rest of you cretins, and bought a ps4, the division, and played with chimi and I quite a bit yesterday. we are to become the grim reapers of ze dark zone. It's on.

that and some vodka was about the sum of my beautiful weekend.

I think it's because girls sense their parents weakness to uphold the house rules...

When you have boys you can say ***like... Or you can go sleep out in the *** yard...I'll even help you set up the tent!

and then they straighten the *** out because they know you will go through with it....

I've learned from having a niece that once they find out what makeup is, there will be no room left on the bathroom sink. Also, that dirty towel she lazily flung across the shower curtain rod isn't dirty, she only used it on her hair.

The fighting with mom thing is true, if you live close enough, she may fight with Grandma too.

Oh, and be prepared to clean hair and scrunchies out of the shower after she's done and put the toilet seat down when you're done. Common courtesy though. >.>

One of them I've actually already heard the faint sound of a snare drum emanating from his walls, so he's clearly a kindred soul. The other I've seen home exactly once in two weeks, sooo...between that and the strategic placement of the drums in the house to reduce noise carrying to the neighbors I'm not super worried.

If they complain I will happily search for further soundproofing solutions. It's not my first rodeo in this regard. I can make it work.

put the toilet seat down

we've been over this...

the fair solution in the name of great justice is for everyone to put the lid down.

that way everyone must interact with the toilet before and after using it...or they can go outside!
